We camped at this campground for the first time and we enjoyed it SO much. The restrooms are decent. There is a boat launch. The sites are maintained well. They also allow “vicious” breeds. You are literally in the mountains and it is so peaceful! There is no cell service so you really get to be away from all the hustle for a weekend.

Spacious campground. Clean facilities. Camp hosts are awesome. Mtb trails start right out of the campground.

Questions & Answers

Is there somewhere to see a picture of site #30 at the dewdrop? We are wondering if there is enough room for 3 tents. Thank you.

Andrea Crumrine | Nov 21, 2018
Brittany Clark | Nov 22, 2018

No but I can guarantee there is but u have to order space for three tents online or however u order your site. I was at #33 and was spacious for more then our two tents let alone another, but go to the website and check it out. They don't have pictures of the site itself but will tell u the Map of the campground and what each site accommodates....electric, tent, r.v....etc

Can i bring my Atv there and ride?

Heather Wilhelm | Sep 22, 2021

Yes. They used to close after Labor Day, but are staying open until end of September this year.

Is there a gate to go down into the campground? I was going to drive through the last time I was in the area (May 15th), but the gate was closed, cars parked up top. I was curious if there was specific instructions on how to enter the campground

Madi Lord | Jun 23, 2021
Dorrie Boyer | Jun 24, 2021

Yes there is a gate that is closed thru the winter till they open, but when they are open you can thru, just gotta stop at the booth, they may or may not charge 5 bucks, they are closed in May

How many tents can be put up at one site? I got a site for six people but we have two or three different father/Son combos coming. Also, if you have any other information I would appreciate it. We are coming to mainly to ride the MTB trails.

The sites I have stayed at this campground were spacious enough to accommodate three tents. I was surprised how much room there is compared to other national campgrounds I have visited. Since it sounds like you'll have an adventurous group, if you have kayaks or other boats, there is a free onsite boat ramp for camper use. The nearby Elijah boat ramp is currently charging $5 a car for daytime use through a self-pay envelope system.

If you have a reservation it's not a problem to check in after 2. If you don't you can self pay at the gate for a first come first serve site.

Is firewood available for purchase at the campground?

Joseph Cappadonia | Nov 20, 2020
Chrissy Kraus | Nov 21, 2020

Yes they do, it's at check in. They have a self pay too if the host isn't there.

I would talk to the camp managers Ray and Von. I'm sure they do but don't know how that works.. I can ask them this weekend. Headed there for the holiday. I know they were inquiring about new Park mangers ..

Can you park and launh a 18 foot boat from the campground?

ruth lanager | Nov 21, 2018
brian borkowski | Nov 22, 2018

Yes you can, the launch in the campground sucks. But they own a launch a mile down the road that's beautiful

IF I wanted to go to one of the walk in sites. Where would I park to unload my gear? Is there a main lot to park a car? How far are the ‘walk in’ sites from the main road or trail? How far do you have to walk to reach them? Thanks!

Kyle Kindle | Nov 21, 2018
Annika Ells | Nov 22, 2018

I think you can park at the boat launch. It's not that far, less than a 1/4 mile of you wanted the farther site... some of them are right there though! Pretty easy walk in sites! But beware the last walk in site is right on the path, and there is a trail that keeps going beyond that site. :)

Nope that's the best part of camping

On the web site it says walk to for tent sites. But also says 2 cars per site. Can you park at your site or is there a hike to get to sites?

Thorton Hall | Nov 21, 2018
Verone Miller | Nov 22, 2018

Sites 1 - 65 you can park in site. Sites 66 - 74 are tent only & will have to carry camping equipment in to site. There is also a group site. Beautiful Campground.

How can I write a review?

Verone Miller | Nov 21, 2018
