I really enjoyed the views this monument provides. This is the best vantage point to get great panoramic photos. The walk up was exactly what I expected. Check this place out on your next visit to Provincetown. It won’t disappoint.

The Pilgrim Monument and Provincetown Museum is a great place to spend a few hours and learn about the changes that occurred after the Pilgrims made their initial landing here back in 1620. The inclined elevator leading up to the monument from Bradford Street is included in the museum’s admission price. The climb to the top of the monument is not as difficult as it might seem since the ascent has very few stairs, instead the climb is made by walking up ramps that encircle the inside of the monument. The view from the top of the monument is certainly affected by weather conditions in P-Town and along the shore of Massachusetts as you view towards the southwest and northwest. The museum has done a good job ‘evolving’ from the standard ‘First Thanksgiving’ tale we ‘older’ folks learned in school, to a truer presentation of the conflict the indigenous peoples had with the arriving Europeans.

You cannot visit Cape Cod without seeing the Pilgrim’s Monument in Provincetown or P- town as they call it. Climb all the step because the view is outstanding.

Almost empty on an April Sunday so it made for a low pressure visit- no one crowding the exhibits and no one hurrying behind me up the stairs/ramps of the monument. Very nicely curated museum and great view of the Cape from the top of the monument. Nice gift shop also. Well worth the admission.

Please do keep an eye on our web page. Like many Provincetown businesses we do close to the public during the winter. For 2021 we will be closing on Nov 15 for the season.
We do not currently have a date for this.
You can buy them same day.
I would guess that they have exclusive rights, but it's probably best to call and ask them to be sure
It was $14 for an adult when I went there in August 2019. Note: The parking fee is $17 for their parking lot but you get one free adult ticket along with the parking pass.
The grounds and the museum are handicap accessible, the monument itself is not.
It's over 200 ft. But it starts out as steps then ramps about 2 degrees then 2 flights of steps to get to the top
I have never noticed any deflection. Stone towers were not built for deflection. That's a 20 century technology built into foundations of tall commercial buildings.
Im front of the visitor center and museum building on High Pole Road. From there, it is a brief walk up the hill to the tower.
The only attraction would have been the harbor. The Pilgrims were looking for arable soil, lots of trees and clean, convenient sources of fresh water. Farming on Cape Cod has always been a challenging side-gig, whereas the Plymouth area is relatively good and Plymouth harbor is superior in several ways.
