The gymnastics education my daughter is receiving at HPGA is beyond comparison. She continues to learn and grow every week She is obtaining her goals while having fun, making lasting friendships and gaining self confidence . I highly recommend this gym to anyone from beginners to high level gymnasts !

My daughter is a 9 year old level 8 gymnast. At the age of seven she came to me and stated that she wanted to be challenged, pushed and held to a standard that she knows she could reach with the right training. So I went on a mission to find that gym. We were coming from a gym that played around all the time, Coaches on their cell phones constantly. No structure, no gymnast who were offered college scholarships, no growth just a wast of time and money. I have heard many things about Hight Point Gymnastics Academy some good some bad but of course you can’t please them all. But what stood out to me the most was the excellent training they provide. I also knew that my 7 year old had very high expectations of herself and I needed to find the right place that could help her achieve those personal goals she set out to accomplish. I came in for a visit and have been here ever since. If you want a place that really focuses on your child’s development, skill and technique while creating a structured but positive environment this is the place for you. Gymnastics is no cheap sport and as a single mother it’s hard at times, but to know my daughter is getting the best training by Coaches and Staff who really care is all the motivation I need to keep her in. I don’t want a gym that will just pass her by and tell her she’s doing good and her skill is not up to standards. I want a gym that is honest straightforward and tells me exactly what it is not what I want to hear. The one thing I wish I could change, is getting her here sooner. We love HIGH POINT GYMNASTICS ACADEMY and I can’t wait to see where this journey takes her.

High Point Gymnastics Academy is an incredible program that teaches young athletes safe & technical gymnastics while inspiring them to have fun and learn valuable life lessons such as hard work, dedication, teamwork, positivity, and self confidence! I was a competitive gymnast at HPGA from the age of 5 until I graduated from high school. Throughout that time I received excellent mentoring and coaching, and with the help of their 2 USAG Hall of Fame Coaches Rob Travers and Buddy Thorburn, I earned a D1 Scholarship to Michigan State University. Now, I have returned to HPGA to fulfill my dream of coaching at the place that always felt like home with the people that always felt like family! We strive to help every child who is interested in gymnastics or tumbling become the best they can be regardless of gender, age, race, background, or ability, so please bring your child in today for a free trial class!

The owner/head coach is emotionally abusive to his gymnast especially if they are injured. The head coach does not encourage parent communication which is a huge problem. If you advocate the mistreatment of your child, you are seen as a trouble maker and he retaliates toward your gymnasts by ignoring them, treating them badly by making negative comments, and even isolating them from the gym, etc. Additionally, there have been racially insensitive comments made in the gym by the head coach to my daughter and others. Such as referring to my child as chocolate and even referencing another black gymnast strength to a gorilla. He has even told my child and one other that I know of he does not respect them because they came in late to practice. Instead of addressing it with the parents, who are the adults, he decides to address little girls who cannot drive themselves. There are several parents that have pulled their gymnasts due to the behaviors I have mentioned and more. I could literally write a book on the insensitive verbal remarks made to my child over the years. The attitude of the head coach has made the environment toxic for many and there have been a few coaches and many gymnasts that have left the gym due to his lack of respect for them and mistreatment of their daughters. Nonetheless, there are good coaches at HPGA but the culture of the gym perpetuates the emotional abuse. No one wants to speak up due to fear of retaliation and lack of clubs in the area. I am still repairing the mental damage that was done to my daughter during her time training with him as her coach specifically during her injury. There are many moments when my daughter was pushed to train while in pain due to fear of speaking up because he would tell her she wasn't really hurt or didn't want to work hard. I do not recommend this gym if you care anything about your child's mental or physical health..

I'm looking for a BEGINNERS gymnastics class for my 5 year old granddaughter. Do you have classes for her age group and how expensive is it? Could she attend an introductory class to determine if she really likes it?
