First time at hot brass range. Excellent experience! Spoke with a gentleman at the range counter who was super polite and professional. I think his name was Jared or Jerold but not sure. Answered a ton of questions without batting an eye or coming off as too “busy” as there were other patrons at the counter. Went back to the range which was super clean and state of the art looking. RSO Brent super friendly, extremely professsional, helpful and knowledgeable. Never been big into indoor ranges but definitely a great experience and worth the trip. fair pricing as well for non-member. Highly recommend. Would definitely return.

At age 15-First time shooting a gun at Guns.Inc (Hot Brass & Bow Range) located at 1050 Main Street, West Springfield, MA 01089 in order to receive the Firearm Identification Card (FID). Richard Parenteau was by far best in informing, guiding and instructing Dez how to properly handle and shot a gun safely. Very proud of you Dez did not flinch. Dez enjoyed every moment. I highly recommend if you want to start your child early Hot Brass is the place to go! ❤️

Questions & Answers

Do I need a permit if I just want to shoot for practice or fun?

Unfortunately at this range they require it. They also do not allow you to shoot with a friend. Since you can shoot legally under the supervision of anyone with an LTC basically under their license. They also prohibit children without licenses from shooting under their parents license. This is 100% a personal preference of the range and has nothing to do with legal or insurance.

There are several options available to you, you may come in as an unlicensed individual and spend an hour with a Certified Instructor learning the basics of safe firearm handling and shooting. You may schedule a Safety Course which will teach you more extensively and you will learn about safe handling, shooting, storage and many of the applicable laws that MA has in place concerning firearm ownership. This course will give you the required credential and 'Live Fire' portion of instruction in order for you to apply for your License to Carry with the State of MA through your local Police Department. Please check out our website for more details or call during regular business hours and one of our Sales Associates will be happy to answer your questions. Thanks for your inquiry! Stop in soon!
