Watson loves this place. It's a great, because the dog park is right on the lake, so the dogs can play in the water. It's a nice, short mile hike from the parking area. If you want to walk more, there are great trails. Nothing too hard. A fun park for dogs and people.

Chris Greene is one of the best parks I’ve ever visited! Lush forests full with a variety of birds surrounding a quiet lake with areas to lounge and hike…There is a sandy beach in the center and a beautiful fenced in dog park/beach that’s well maintained.

Took the wife and kids on 11/20/21. Only left 3 stars because we were not able to get the big picture of this place. It has an awesome beach section that was closed for the winter months. One thing that stood out to me was the silence. I got down next to the water by the volleyball net and just took it in. I don't think I have ever experienced such quiet and calm.

No camp. Is a day park. Fish, swim, fields, such like They do special events that allow tent camp on occasion
I believe the dog park is open but you would have to be able to control your dog so that he/she doesn't go in the water which I know it would be impossible for me to keep my dog from jumping in .

Canoe rentals are available between Memorial day and Labor Day.
There are charges for both Albemarle country residents and non residents between Memorial Day Weekend and Labor Day (county residents get a discount). The park has no entrance fee the rest of the year.
