Tony and I went to the Barboursville Vineyard to see the Plantation Ruins of the home belonging to Governor James Barbour. The vineyard is extremely lovely. They also sale cheese crackers and meats. There was also chocolates and a few souvenirs. Definitely recommend and will go back if in the area. Free to enjoy the Ruins.

This place is awesome. We visited because they were ranked #8 vineyard in the US at one point. The octagon wine was amazing!

This place really is amazing. The tasting room is all self serve with help of a few knowledgeable wine staff to make suggestions ($15) per 6 tastings ($2.50 per ounce). Where inside at the library is $25 for the same tasting which has a more hands on service approach. The library is nice to sit with a good view and can order some food. The tasting room is perfect to grab a glass to walk around outside. The views here are gorgeous and the staff was amazing 5* service! We will definitely be back here! Also all wine is served in a glass even for tastings which some places do not do.

The place is nice outside. Wine is good. Cleanliness is BAD. IM attaching photos of the restroom. It looks like they have not been cleaned since the pandemic started. If that is how clean their public areas are, I'm afraid to see how the non public places are cleaned. ALSO, having to do tastings from a machine with a key card is a no go for me. Disappointed.

There are picnic tables outside and yes dogs are allowed outside.
Yes they do
There are steps up to the ruins, so the scooter may not make it.
The restaurant on site serves lunch from 12-2:30. They do run heavily on reservations. It’s always best to call ahead.

No reservations needed unless you are going to the restaurant.
