i worked for this place for just a few months and let me tell you, the absolute worst place i’ve ever worked for. staff is horrible. supervisors are terrible. management is not run well. they do not care for staff or patient safety. the nurses sit at the nurses station talking about what to get for dinner and what to get to drink at a restaurant after work. they are understaffed and put so much strain on BHA’s to pick up the slack while the nurses sit and write notes on patients they don’t even see. many of them talk about patients as if they aren’t struggling already. staff constantly talk behind each other’s back, it’s like being in highschool all over again. 0/10 do not recommend. very gross. no thanks.

I was taken to Whittier after a suicide attempt. The staff and doctors were incredible, I went to all the meetings and found out my case was not uncommon with men my age. I still don't know why I attempted suicide at the time I did. So any advice I can give is to seek help, on any early warning signs you may have or someone you know. Looking back now, over a year ago, I am so glad I was taken there. By the way the food was great.

My fiance voluntarily admitted himself to the ER for suicidal ideation on a Monday. He was not sectioned. He was expecting to be treated as such. His doctor kept him for 8 days, and refused to release him Friday because he missed 1 group that no staff informed him was going on at the time. The date moved to Monday, and then for no given reason, Wednesday, when his insurance ran out. Do not send your loved ones here.

Other than the medications, the therapy sessions are a joke. Spiritual bingo, emotional jenga, etc etc. The place is quite dead and eventless on the weekends. Many of the staff are nice, the food is passable (some of it terrible), the rooming is actually not bad. Clean, decently comfortable beds, and AC/heat. However, during the winter season, almost the entire ward was freezing cold. Coupled with the cold sweats I was already experiencing, I had to pace the floor wearing 3 layers of clothes and some blankets shrouded around me. Unacceptable for a therapeutic environment, and caused me major discomfort on top of my anxiety and depression. The heater in my room did very little to cut through that chill. Simply put, maybe look for an alternative.

I think from 6 to 8 on weekdays
I think that they are 6 to 8 at night, when I was there they would make some exceptions. I think during the day it's like 1 or 2
