It’s so nice going to a vet that loves big breeds just as much as I do! Penny approves of the treats and I approve of the great people working there!

We have been taking our dogs to VCA Brookline for the last Many years. Our new dog Fauci injured his eye a couple weeks ago. I called and was given a prompt urgent appt with Dr Groper. With Covid protocols still in place could not go into the room for the exam. Dr Groper came out and was abrasive, short and seemingly put out I had brought him in. He said “he has a serious eye injury and needs to be watched closely but im not an ophthalmologist” I am an emergency medicine provider myself so asked a few medical questions he was agitated to answer then proceeded to give me an eye ointment with steroid in it which we had discussed was extremely detrimental and contraindicated in these cases. Thank god I had the knowledge to point it out and the tech changed it to the correct version. He said we needed follow up in one week with him for recheck or sooner if he worsened. When my husband brought him back yesterday it was even worse. He was extremely angry we brought him back (“there’s nothing I can do for you.” ) When asked for a referral for a specialist he said “Good luck finding an ophthalmologist in this state” then gave him the steroid eye ointment and when my husband asked what to look for he literally got up and walked away with no response or follow up and a $200 bill. These were 2 of the most unprofessional interactions we have ever had with medical providers and we are both in health care. I would have excused one as a bad day but after the second there is no excuse and nearly $600 in bills for rude unprofessional and inadequate veterinary care. Nicole Dwyer

I love this vet office, we moved to Massachusetts in the fall and it was hard to find someone who was great with our pupper. The vet is great but the front staff is not so friendly and the office COVID policy's are a bit nuts. My first visit I didn't have my phone on me, it was almost dead. I had booked an appointment and no one said they had certain procedures over the phone. The door was locked so I knocked, with my hands full and holding my pupper who was shaking from the cold and they all looked up from their desk and made a phone sign at me with their hands. I again knocked and eventually someone came over, opened the door just to point to a sign to say I need to call. I said I didn't have my phone so they then shut the door again on me and my freezing pupper. They then came to the door to COVID screen me THEN let us enter. My pupper then wanted to sniff around as this is a new space for him and I immediately was told to sit, the waiting room was empty. The vet tech and vet were amazing and took good care of my pupper. Last week I had emailed and put in a prescription request. I received an email that it was ready, again no mention of COVID policies still in place. My husband dropped me off at the front of the building because their was no parking so I could just run in quick. I figured I had to pay as it is a $71 script. Again I was met with a locked door and hadn't grabbed my full purse with phone, just my wallet. Again I knocked and was greeted so rudely, someone literally opened the door just to point to the sign. I let them know and again the door was shut on me leaving me in the cold and finally said person came back with paper and a pen to take phone number and dogs name. Door shut on me again. Finally came back with medication and said they sent me a link on my phone to pay. First off that is very trusting, second if you have policy's you should tell people over the phone or in emails, third this is insane measures for a Vet office. Restaurants have lesser restrictions, I can go in to pick up my food, I can go and to pick up and wait for food. This place I am taking my fur baby and the first visit you literally shut us in the cold till your convince and refused to let him wander when he is an animal, he deserves to feel ok and explore a new place.

My cat was a patient of Dr. Feldman who gave her amazing care. My cat passed from a very rare disease, and Dr. Feldman identified it right away and allowed me to get her immediate treatment and an extra 6 months of good quality life. Even the specialty vet was surprised it was identified so early. Thank you so much to this VCA team!

There is construction going on that area. I went on a Sunday afternoon and was street parking available than probably weekdays. I think they have also parking too. You can ask them too, they are very nice. Take care. 😊
