My initial contact with Dobies Funeral Homes on call funeral director (can’t remember his name but I’m almost certain it was Jeffrey) was fantastic. My mother had spoken with someone at their office who had been incredibly callous and rude to her and I figured I would give them a call, thinking perhaps there was a breakdown in communication coupled with the emotional stress of loosing her son to COVID-19. The gentleman I spoke with this morning, was kind, genuine and all the tension that I had built up in anticipating being treated with the callousness my mother encountered, slipped away, it felt more like I was talking to an old friend. I was incredibly impressed and actually had decided to speak to him about another need our family has. He was actually driving in at the time I called so he said to give the office around 8:30 or so, to give him time to get in and have what he needed in front of him to be better able to answer my questions. When I called back I got Jenna, based on my mother’s retelling of her interaction and the one I had, there is no doubt Jenna was the same person who treated both my mother and myself with absolute callousness, a blatant disrespect and disregard. Her attitude blew me away, it was the very last thing I expected after the wonderful conversation had with their on call funeral director 30 minutes before. My recommendation to anyone who is considering using Dobies now or in the future is to limit your conversations to the funeral directors and by-pass interacting with the office staff, specifically Jena who would benefit greatly from some etiquette and emotional IQ training and never be allowed to interact with a grieving family!

We have known Tom for many years. He is a great person and has a heart of gold. Last year he helped us with my father in law when he passed and was nothing but perfect to me and my family. He is very in tune with our First Responders and he takes care of us. His organization is top shelf.

My companion dog and best friend Precious passed away in the early morning. Dobies picked her remains up with such respect in the early hours of the morning. The gentleman was kind and compassionate of my Precious. Three weeks later I picked her ashes at the Congress Street location. The funeral director there was so respectful of my loss. Everything that Dobies did for me made a very painful event much more doable. Thank you for all that your funeral home has done for me! She's back home now❤️🐾🌈

Initially I would have given a 5 star rating. Prior to, and during services for my brother, they were wonderful. Especially Neil. Neil went out of his way to help make sure I'd be able to play my slide show on my computer, and have everything i needed to connect to their equipment. But now that services are over, dealing with BILL, I'm extremely disappointed. We have been unable to communicate with my brother's wife - she refuses to talk to us or respond to our requests - to get my brother's ashes, his fingerprint and even to find out where and when his ashes will be interred in the military cemetery. BILL simply stated he is not allowed to give that information to anyone EVEN HIS BLOOD FAMILY. He did not offer to try to reach out to the wife to see if she will waive confidentiality, nothing. Just policy, blah blah blah. Useless. Meanwhile my mom and I are grieving, have nothing to remember him by - literally - and the one place that COULD intervene on our behalf refuses to even try. Shame, too. Because it started as such a good experience. I guess Neil is the one good guy they have.

Hello Martin, Dobies Funeral Homes has a range of price options for the families we serve. The best way to find out more is to schedule an appointment with one of our licensed funeral directors. They are not compensated based on commission, so what ever arrangements you make are not motivated by anything other then your wishes.

Do you offer prepaid plans for cremation with monthly payments? If so, how can I get such information on line, mailed, or emailed to me? Thsnk you.

Hello Joey, We do have payment options available to the families we serve. If you would like to get our Funeral Planning Guide you can message us directly your address on the Google maps platform or you can walk into which ever chapel is most convenient and pick one up. The guild has a lot of great information that you can then take with you when you sit with one of the directors and make your pre-arrangements.
