I was given a gift certificate 2 years ago for me and my husband to ride in one of their air balloons. We have scheduled it 3 different times and all 3 times it was cancelled because of weather. I know this isn't there fault but this has been going on 2 years now. We live 3 hours away and we have to be there at 530am to ride. We have spent more money on hotel rooms, food, gas, and taken time off work to do this then I would like to admit. Plus we had to put down a deposit to ride. This gift has turned into a burdon. They are going to extend our gift certificate because it is expiring now so I'm waiting to see what date they can fit me in at but that flight will be cancelled as well I'm sure. They refused to give a refund to my giftor and suggest I give it to someone else so I won't have to worry about it anymore. Update 4/27/22. After leaving the above review I called the office of the American Balloons that I had been scheduling with the last years. The woman who answered had read the review and let me have it for a good 10-15 minutes and everytime I would try to interject to explain what a burden this has been she would cut me off. I did finally get some words in and she gave me a partial refund. I got everything but $50 back which I'm totally fine with. Giving up that $50 will save me hundreds in trying to ride this balloon. It's a shame because we really did want to experience this.

This was our first balloon ride and it was extraordinary! The pilot was very friendly and capable with many years experience. His wife was also very nice and they made a great team. We learned a lot about ballooning and it’s history from both of them. The morning ended with a wonderful mimosa to celebrate our first special air balloon ride! We would highly recommend American Balloons!

Had a great experience from beginning to the end with our Pilot Tom. Making the reservation online was easy, I got a confirmation right away and Jessica was great when I called with questions and concerns. For anybody who didn't know this company has a basket with a door thank my lucky knees because I was very worried about climbing over the edge of the basket. Once we arrived everyone was very polite and friendly. We drove about 20 min to a field where they worked like a fine oiled machine putting the balloon together. It was amazing to see such professionalism with this company compare to others from another company in the same field. We had an amazing flight over New Tampa and into Wesley Chapel with our Funny Pilot Tom. He was very knowledgeable and made us all very comfortable. We had an a very gentle landing and the crew worked quickly and efficiently to pack everything back up. I still can not believe how it works! We were then shuttled back to the hotel and loved listening to the stories from Tom and Jessica and enjoying our Champagne. I can not wait to do this again! My family is in for a real treat when they come back to visit. I highly recommend this company. They are friendly, professional and really know what they are doing!
