When we arrived the owner was nowhere to be found. We came hundreds of miles and arrived an hour early. When we finally did get ahold of her she told us checkin was at 3 and to go grab a bite to eat. Now mind you there was only one other guest and the door was unlocked. The room I booked had the only guest there in it so they gave us the Devil Anse room. The door between the bedroom and bathroom was a slotted closet door which provided nooo privacy. We unpacked and settled in since we were planning on being there for 4 nights. Tues - sat. On thurs the owner sent me a text while we were out on the trails stating they were moving our stuff to a different room due to a leak. We actually came back early and moved our stuff. Trying to be understanding. We then left for an hour and when we got back they cleaned and booked the room to someone else. Oh and if you expect breakfast you’ll have to go down the road. I’ve stayed all over and this was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had. The room they shoved us in had a small bed on the floor not big enough for my husband and I so I slept on the couch. We won’t be back.

Awesome, affordable and nostalgic themed inn! My travel partner is from the hatfield family and we were visiting her childhood church and cemetery plots and she loved the place! Definitely recommend a stay! - parksadventurer.com

The Urban Farmhouse

We stayed for 2 nights and loved the atmosphere and cleanliness of the rooms. Each room had its own decor and theme We enjoyed the terrace with rocking chairs and lap quilts. The owners are friendly and sat wit us for a while on the terrace. We would definitely recommend this inn for lodging. Tammy S.

I enjoyed my business travel stay at the Hatfield McCoy House Inn due to the comfortable beds, quiet atmosphere, location, and pleasant community. I was given a choice of rooms after looking around the second floor. Quite a treat to be treated as a guest in a home rather than a number in an assembly line at chain hotels. The wifi wasn't 100% reliable so I was unable to complete all the work I wanted to, however, it forced me to look around and relax which made my stay more enjoyable. Would definitely stay again my next time traveling through. Starters was a great local restaurant and bar to further partake in the town atmosphere.
