We lost our internet service on Wednesday, so we called customer service. They said the soonest someone could come out was on Sunday. It is Sunday and they are a no show. We are switching to Xfinity ASAP. Consolidated Communications is AWFUL !!!

Terribly rude customer service over the phone. Charges fee to pay over the phone. Extremely slow internet. Hope to switch to xfinity soon!

This review is specific to Keene, NH. If you're familiar with Keene, especially regarding specific neighborhoods, this is a landlord-heavy town. Large, multi-unit buildings owned by landlords. A representative from Consolidate Communications came by unannounced, going door to door, signing people up for this service. Our building clearly has "1", "2" and "3" marked on the doors, making it obvious that this is a multi-unit building, likely owned by a landlord. The representative from Consolidated Communications signed us up, indicating that we would have greater speeds that our current provider. We signed up for an installation date and time. Installation date/time comes - no one shows up. I call CC's customer service - who was great by the way! - and in talking to the customer service rep, she mentions that they can only give us a speed of 80 Mbps, due to the landlord needing to make physical upgrades to the building to allow for fiber. (80 Mbps is a slower speed than my current provider.) The customer service representative also indicated that the landlord would have to pay for the cost of this upgrade. This was the first I'd heard of this requirement. The sales representative who came by made absolutely NO mention of this. Since it's obvious that we live in an apartment, based on the numbers on the door, I can only conclude that the door-to-door Consolidated Communications salespersons were themselves not informed of this requirement by their management, or that they're being deliberately deceitful. Neither of those reflect well on Consolidated Communications. I immediately cancelled the account with CC. While I'm fortunate in that I have a wonderful landlord, and I hope that they will be willing to pay for the necessary upgrades for us to get the CC fiber service at some future point, if my landlord decides they can't afford the cost of making the building upgrade, then I'm out of luck with CC. This information about the landlord requiring an upgrade at their own cost for fiber internet seems to contradict Consolidated Communications own information on their website regarding "free installation." Q: HOW DO I GET A FIBER CONNECTION TO MY HOME ONCE IT BECOMES AVAILABLE? A: Running a fiber connection from the curb to your house is covered by the FREE professional installation. A connection box will be installed at your property, typically on the side or back of your home. This unit will also contain the power supply and battery back-up for the electronics. Understandable that this would require landlord permission for a multi-unit building, but there's nothing in the previous statement that indicates that a cost is required for this upgrade. In fact, the FAQ indicates that installation is free - something that was reiterated by the door-to-door salesman. Keene apartment residents: Please beware of the CC sales reps - they're not telling you the whole story. The ONLY reason why I'm giving this 2 stars, instead of 1 star, is because of CC's phone customer service - the person I talked to was forthcoming and apologetic regarding the shortcomings/lack of information of the door-to-door sales rep. The woman I talked to on the phone deserves a raise.

What an awful company. Consolidated has somehow been able to help 2 neighbors with getting-3 mbps (yes, that little and we only get .67 mbps), and they say even though we are in between these two houses who got their lines banded, we could not. We asked for a review of our home after talking with the local tech who was on the street and said we could physically get the lines banded. We have called now for 4 months every 2 weeks and no-one will help. No-one will call, no-one will explain. Really, the name customer service should be changed to 'people who answer the phone' and truly those who answer have no authority or ability to help. There is no actual customer service. If we EVER get a choice, Consolidated Communications will be a company never used again in our house. We will make it a point to share our horrible experiences with all those we can to make sure good people never have to deal with a company that has been horrible to its customers.

I couldn't agree with you more. when I complained that I pay for a service that continuously goes out and I never have consistent internet and they're in breach of a contract, they explain to me the wording of my contract says that they will make every effort to provide the service so we pay for service it's not even guaranteed. It's always out in Manchester go is out several times a week on and off for several hours
