Had some problems with my priming my pod…their 24/7 customer service rep was friendly& helpful and easy to communicate with. Also answered some additional questions I had regarding some other issues. I have only been using the Omnipod Dash system for about 6 months now (use it off label as a Cortisol pump for Adrenal Insufficiency and it has changed my life!)πŸ˜Šβ€¦so happy I chose to go with this system as opposed to the competition due to the fact that it has no wires/tubes, etc. which makes it more conducive to my lifestyle. I encourage anyone who is considering a pump for insulin therapy or an adrenal patient who thinks they may be a candidate for subcutaneous cortisol replacement to seek out a physician who is open minded enough to begin this type of corticosteroid replacement. As I said, it is off label (meaning it is non-FDA approved) but if you do your research, you will see how Cortisol pumps have changed adrenal patients lives for the better! No, my disease is not cured….but my daily quality of life have improved SO dramatically, I cannot believe it. I have managed to stay out of the hospital since starting the Omnipod and the days where I can barely get out of bed due to my severe hypotension are now non-existent. Three cheers for my Omnipod!!! 😊

I have been using my Omnipod for almost a year now. I love it. Being an educator of small children, I appreciate the tubeless device. The PDM is small enough for me to keep on my cart and take with me wherever I go. I have had challenges with 6 pods ( 3 caused a rash and 3 had trouble sticking) Customer service was very good about helping to replace the pods I could not use. They worked with me and my insurance even at the beginning of the benefit year when my deductible had not be met. These folks are my heroes!

I started using the Omnipod system 4 years ago this November. I was mostly happy with the product. It did seem that sometimes I would get a very helpful person when I experienced a pod failure and sometimes I would get someone that would interrogate me as if I was trying to lie to them to get one free pod. That is laughable considering how much money they have gotten from me and my insurance for this stuff. When my insurance changed last Fall, Insulet let me know that they did not sign an agreement with Tennessee to be able to ship supplies so I would be forced to order through a third party. They referred me to EdgePark, but because of past experience I decided to find another supplier, which worked for one order. For reasons I cannot help, my insurance changed again. I stopped wearing/ordering pods for 6 months now. I just tried to start up again and they tell me my "warranty" (which is like a 4 year lock into their product) is up and I will not be getting the new PDM and pods now that they are ready. Technically, I received the 1st generation PDM and 10 pods in April of 2009, but because my "warranty" on my Cozmo was not up until November of 2009 I could not order pods until after the warranty on the other expired. I explained this to Insulet and they told me "tough luck", I need to buy the new one! Here is the kicker, my insurance won't let me buy the new one because I didn't start ordering pods until December of 2009 so they think my warranty is not up! Insulet is not trying to help me at all. While I love the no tubing of the Omnipod, I am probably not going to continue doing business with this company. Even with insurance, the pods (through EdgePark) will cost me $40 per pod for the 1st box, $16.25/pod for the 2nd box, and $8/pod for each additional box every year. Considering they last 2 to 3 days, $1,360 for the year's worth of pods is just too expensive. And this from a company that is not actively trying to get my business. Too bad a good product is being wasted on a company that doesn't care about the people it could help. Maybe other pump companies will move to the tubeless system faster.

Questions & Answers

Why is there no way to email Executive management ? I have seen numerous complaints on line about the failure of support staff to return calls or do their jobs at all. I am currently without a functioning PDM for 29 days.
