FYI - if you are "a problem" they will block your phone number. I tried calling to check the balance today, could not get through and got a strange noise like a disconnect. Got through immediately on my daughter's phone. I will be buying a burner phone to call them on next fall. Guess they want me to file more complaints.

Everyone be patient. I've been trying my fuel assistance application since NOVEMBER, IT IS APRIL NOW and I'm still waiting! I called and they stated, There are only 3 CERTIFIERS FOR 12,000 APPLICANTS. THEY HAVE BEEN and ARE short staffed.

All of the paperwork asked for when application was "incomplete" was sent in on Oct 8. Call to check on status, hung up on, calls not returned when message and number left. Today, 12/22 hung up on 3 separate times, and then when paperwork pushed through suddenly needed a 13 year old divorce decree to make application "complete". Empty oil tank right before Christmas. Fun.

They have been great the past 3 years. This year it took them 3 months to approve my application and I have called them every week and they are still waiting for the state to release them money so they can help the needy. It’s a shame the state hasn’t released the money knowing that people are hurting

Call them...they usually wait 2 weeks to reissue a check to see if it ends up coming in the mail. No they cannot cash your check and fuel assistance can see the status of the check.. Itll be outstanding status. Good luck
