It is so beautiful and I can feel how rich the family was. Super pretty sea coast, but the Chinese tea house closed so early. We do not have a chance to take a look.

One of my favorite Newport mansions. The home of William Vanderbilt (grandson of Cornelius) and his wife, took 4 years to build and tons of marble. The Tea House in the back was the site of suffragette meetings and offers a breathtaking view for lunch. The rooms are gorgeous and it’s one of the shorter tours, if your pressed for time. It wasn’t at all busy when we were there, on a Thursday in the summer.

Absolutely amazing. The detail in this home is next level. The gothic room is out of this world insane. The craftsmanship is a thing of wonder. All of the detail is like nothing you’ve seen. No expense was spared creating this home and you can see it in every corner. I’ve never seen anything like it. I was absolutely blown away.

Went on a weekend before Christmas and the decorations were amazing! What else would you expect from a home with 500,000 cubic ft of marble?? Masking strictly enforced. A lot of people there but staff tried to limit people in narrow spaces. Definitely worth it to get annual pass. Plan to go back in the spring and summer!!

Yes! If you download the app. You can then download the tour!! Enjoy I do have a membership to the NPS but, I don't think that makes a difference.
