I adopted a beautiful boy dog. Staff was very human, but yet very helpful and professional. Until it came time to take him back cause of the violate nightmare the dog had. That the staff forgot to tell me about. They also forgot to mention that he's a one way walker. Walks with you until its time to go back. Then you had to carry him back or go get the truck to load him in to get him back to the house. Then they refused to approve me for another dog, except for the old and dying. I don't want to get attached to it , then have to put it down, too. Then when i asked for my $100 back( adoption fee) they refused, saying they would approve me for a sick and dying dog. Take it or leave it.they said. I feel sorry for the dogs out there. They all deserve a happy home but only if the staff approves of you and your living conditions. This is the last place on earth to adopt a dog from. Watch out or the staff will steal your money too. But unfortunately, the dogs are who pays for this with their lives. I give the place zero(0) stars.

Very disappointed in our visit here. Never took us back to see the dogs but brought out a 14 year old small dog that they were pushing on my mother who was looking for a small dog around 3-5 years old. One girl kept saying he was only around 10 while the other clearly said 14. They said that was all they had in the category she was looking for but never offered to take us back. If my mom had found a dog she was interested in it wouldn't have mattered if it was a pup or 5 years old. One less dog went home that day.

There are some nice people that work here to try to better the lives of homeless animals. Then there are rude and inconsiderate people that have no clue how to deal with the public. They used to have a vet on staff. I did not know that they no longer did when I called to make an appointment for my cat who has been there before with a minor toe injury. The rude lady who answered the phone acted as if I knew this was the case. The place is full of politics and then there’s the idle rich who volunteer and act as if their works will get them into heaven. So sorry. Sorry for all the animals whose lives get left in the balance due to these incompetence.

Just got a kitten here, and 2 of my dogs go to the clinic here, and they are awesome. The Harry Potter fan, forgot her name, is amazing, she went above and beyond to help with an issue I have with one dog that has bad anxiety and allergies.

I surrendered a cat once and was so upset afterwards . I was able to purchase her back by paying their vet fees that they spent on her . Thank God. I didn't realize how much I loved my cat till she was gone. I was heart broken
Donations are always welcome
Highlands County Humane Society does them on Wednesdays. Very reasonable.
With us.
Declawing messes with a cats well being. It's sort of like if they took out your knuckles in your toes. It causes issues for them down the road and I'm hoping it's going to hopefully be illegal one day.
You will have to go to the Humane Society facility and talk to the adoption staff. There is no one set adoption fee. The fee is relevant to the animal being adopted. Dr. Carpenter
You will have to contact the Humane Society directly. Only the senior staff is involved with in taking animals and most frequently animals are brought by someone other than the owner, therefore, minimal information is provided about the animal. If you have lost your cat the only way to know for sure is to call and go to the facility and look at the cats yourself.
Call humane Society, you will have to get a vet appointment, they are affordable
We do not have a vet currently we are open Tuesday-Sunday 10am-4pm.
Yes you can but they only have a vet on Mondays now. I am not sure if you need to make an appointment or you can just walk in. Monday is the only day they have a vet there for their clinic.
Call them they only have a Facebook page but definitely call them.
They don't hate cast they're just so many feral cats around in this area cuz people will get cats and just drop them off forever and let them roam free so that's why they are neutering and spading cats it's not that they hate them it's just we're overrun with cats
Most DAPPV vaccines are now accepted as three year duration vaccinations - not all veterinarians accept that, however, the manufacturers are stating that off the record, especially for dogs older than 2 years and have had booster vaccinations annually. Personally that is my personal protocol for my own dog. Bordetella is a different matter - to date the best research I have reviewed indicates the best of the bordetella vaccines last barely a year. Annual boosters should be the standard protocol. Dr. Carpenter
Yes
No and why would you even do that to a animal
Give humane society a call and find out all the prices
We have not but check All shelters
And make an appointment
Give them a call and vask
The best person to talk to is your vet. Incase of a hurricane it's best to take them with you. The vet can go over options with you about how to make traveling less stressful for kitty. They can also make sure you are prepared incase of an emergency.
When i volunteered i did walks and played with them.
I believe they just take them in. However, there could be a fee for it. I'm new to the area but got a dog from there two days ago and the people there are great and easy to deal with. I would suggest calling and asking questions for a direct answer though. Hope this atleast helps some.
8:15 am
It varies...many are around $100...but the j uh st adopted one that cost $225
The more volunteers the better
Yes, we got our Chihuahua, terrier mix there.
I don't know of the Humane Society offers training, but I believe you can schedule training through Petco or Pet Supermarket. They've had trainers available for appointments in the past.
Sebring Animal Hospital might help you out .Open an account and pay a little at a time Dr.Larry is very caring.
So sad, try and take them or find them a home..
Call them ASAP , Tell them you want your dog back . If they have a heart, your dog will be returned 🙏💔
Yes.
Go up and fill of the application
I'm not sure what other shots your dog needs but I know that its 3 shots in total that they give
Yes this is a no kill shelter
Yes the animal control
The low cost walk-in clinic for dogs/cats is Tuesday 10-3. Not free but cheaper than any private vet. It's fine for getting routine shots /deworming. Price list: http://humanesocietyofhighlandscounty.com/surgical.html
Animal control
Call the Humane Society in Sebring Fl
I know that all the animals there are taken very good care of
I believe it is just $20. You cant get just paro, you get one shot and it covers almost everything
Please bring it to us. We will find its rightful owner. Thank you
If you adopt an animal the neutering fee is included in the adoption fee.
Ditto
I need to get my two dogs yearly shots do I need to make appointment or a walk in? And I heard that you guys only do them on Tuesday is it true?
Yes we are 8-4pm
We accept animals when space allows, because we are a no-kill shelter, so if we have no room, we cannot accept more
You can meaasge them on facebook

Volunteers have to be 18...
Yes 12 parrotts
yes they do and any other stuff too.
They usually have puppies but you just need to go out there and look.
Yes. Not sure about the price You can call them
Go on Facebook to the Humane Society of Highlands County. Send them a private message with a picture of the cat. They will post it on Facebook to get it out to the community. Also keep contacting animal control because of they picked it up they will have it there. Also call The Humane Society and they will log it in the book. I volunteer there good luck
I only had my puppy fixed. I do not know about cats.
They have a completely updated price list on their webpage. Their vet service is every Tuesday
There is no policy for free spays and neuters at the Humane Society. The Society functions on donations exclusively and surgeries incurr basic costs that must be met. All surgeries are at a much reduced fee but not free. Dr. Carpenter
No, just be a week before or after I believe. They turned me down because mine was.
I can't answer about a cat being spayed I had my dog neutered there. But I do know the shots there are less expensive than a veterinarian
I didn't have a problem there, but I would definitely report that person.
Sure, winter is coming, thank you
