Five stars to Paul Blackman for not putting body Camara's on his officers. It shows he doesn't care about them or the citizens of this county. To serve n protect,,,ha !!! Your not serving anyone by being ignorant n your sure as hell not protecting the officer's or is citizens. You Paul Blackman are as dirty of a cop as a blood soaked tampon. Resign!!!

Amazing department. They care about the community they serve. I have never encountered a member of the Highlands County Sheriffs office that was not outstanding. Every member I have come in contact with is professional, helpful, and kind. Thank you, and Sheriff Blackman for all you do!

I would just like to say how much I appreciate the men and women of the Sheriff's department for showing up every day and putting their lives on the line to protect us. And please remember the Correctional Officers , who are not Peace Officers, who also show up every day with little recognition. Stay safe, and thank you for being there.

They do not know how to do their job. Detective Rittenour is a narcissistic but. He does not care if a person did not do the crime all he cares about is a case. But at the end of the day when GOD returns to this earth he will have to answer for all his wrong doings to people. The judge Rittenour needs to not trust everything Detective Rittenour gives to him. Because all Detective Rittenour care about is himself and to try to prove a case against someone.

You can Google search the sheriff's office website and it will show you the sheriff but I doubt it will have his email. You would have to call and talk to the front desk people about trying to get in touch with him.
The jail will not accept incoming mail in envelopes, other than legal mail or envelopes marked “For Deposit Only” with only a deposit for the inmate's account inside. We will only accept post cards that meet our criteria, which is the following: Minimum size 3.5 inches by 5 inches Maximum size 5 inches by 7 inches Postcards may be picture postcards Must be typed or written in black or blue ink Must include inmates full name and MNI number Must have a complete return address No photos depicting images deemed obscene, vulgar, gang related, or inappropriate.
