Ownership changed around 2019. The level of care has drastically declined. I lost my pet as a result of this despite several appts leading up to her death where I practically harassed the staff for answers. It’s well known in the local community this vet is not the same as it once was. I was a long time loyal patron-nearly a decade. This review is not written in haste- more so to make others aware so they can make their own educated decisions on their pets care. My extremely loud concerns (which in the end were spot on) were not taken seriously. I am not one who is passive in advocating for my dogs. I made my concerns well known & attended multiple appts asking for answers. My dog suffered terribly as a result of this. She was last seen on a Friday & all was “okay”. She had to be euthanized 3 days later on a Monday… I feel I was being shrugged off or pumped for money while my dog was literally dying-which I never would have thought could possibly happen based on my previous 5 star rating of this vet. I trusted this place & they failed me & my girl. I received her back in a tin can with scotch tape around the lid. I will never bring my business here again.

Stay away, there are other options out there. They make the outside look pretty to cover the dysfunction within. They told me one appointment time then put it in the books wrong making me late. Instead of assisting with there mistake they told me to come back in a 3 1/2 weeks. They do not update records in a timely manner and the website is absolute garbage.

This is by far the best vet out of the three I’ve taken my animals to in the capital region. They care about your pets just as much as you do and treat them with that in mind. Our dogs got very sick and one had to stay in the hospital there overnight and they were extremely accommodating.

I've been brining my animals here since I was a young kid. 20+ years. Dr. Chris Elson is the best! I have a very anxious and reactive dog who can be borderline aggressive with people he doesn't know super well. He loves Dr Elson! That being said, the reason I am only giving 3 stars is because a couple years ago the business got sold. Since this happened it has become very corporate and difficult to deal with. If it were not for Dr Elson, I would not still be bringing my dogs in.

Questions & Answers

What vet has done the most dental work on older cats?

They really all have... Everyone has a dental day, young and old patients. Us technicians are used to monitoring anesthesia for senior pets too.

Does this vet specialize in MPL classification 2 surgery? If yes what is the average cost? Just was quoted $5500-7500 from vet in pattersonville.

Don't know but if you call them they are very friendly and accommodating.

How much does it costs to get my cat spayed?

Wouldn't it be smarter to call them for an accurate estimate instead of people guessing. The price will depend on a lot of things. They need info on the animal.
