My cat Jamey was having constipation issues while we were in the middle of transitioning to a new regular vet. We took her to UVS and the staff were all excellent in dealing with her (she is typically spicy and was particularly grumpy due to her circumstances). They were also patient with us, her worried humans! After treatment, she is passing stool all on her own and enjoying her favorite sunny spot at home. Thank you UVS!

I recently had to visit this emergency clinic for my dog Gus. He was experiencing dark brown/red diarrhea, vomiting and a decrease in appetite. The staff were all amazing!! Dr. Hannum was fantastic, and gave my dog a thorough exam, genuinely listened to my concerns and provided excellent care. I was given very clear and concise after-care instructions, and felt at ease when my dog was discharged. All dog parents hope to never have a medical emergency with their fur babies, but if you do, I highly recommend Upstate Veterinary!

I will never go anywhere else for my fur babies specialty services! UVS was nothing but all around phenomenal!! Last year Spice (the beautiful baby you see in these photos) was diagnosed with mammary cancer due to my poor choices as a fur mom. This caused a highly expensive and intensive 2 part surgery. As well as chemotherapy sessions afterwards. The oncology staff were not only very pleasant, very welcoming, completey understanding, and extremely knowledgeable but they also treated Spice with the upmost care. They always had good words about her after every visit and they remembered her each time we came in. (Which was extremely impressive, considering the amount of clients they see daily and our visits were always a month apart from each other.) And after all her treatments were completed, they took a picture with her, gave us a graduation form, and put a star on her kennel that read, "I'm a star at UVS". Thanks to their honestly and their understanding through this very difficult time, Spice is finally back to her happy and healthy self!! Thank you so very much UVS! Spice and her humans couldnt be anymore happier!!

Our Doberman Shadow was diagnosed with heart arrhythmias by our local vet. We opted to drive the 3+ hours one way to bring him to Upstate Veterinary Specialties, and it was definitely worth the drive!! Cornell Animal Hospital is much closer but we have had nothing short of horrible experiences there with every aspect of what they call "care". and will never go to or recommend them to anyone. WHAT a difference in everything at/about Upstate! I can not say enough good things about the the cardiologist (Dr. Sedacca), and everyone encountered before, during , and after my visit there! They were pleasant, caring, and professional. We got personalized care that was all about Shadow and his well being, the way it should be! Due to their excellent care, and after less then 24 hours on the prescribed heart meds, Shadow is now back to being his active happy 10yr old "puppy" acting self and we are looking forward to many more happy years with our boy! I will continue to make the necessary trips up here as well as spread the word to everyone I know on the excellent experience they will have here! Here is a smile from him to you!

They are professional veterinarians of every specialty at this hospital. I am sure they can help you.
You should call to ask this specific question. I would bet that they do, but don't know for sure. Good luck.
Yes
4 weeks later is a bit late for this cat, but for anyone else: If he's super lethargic or has not peed for like eight hours, then he should see an emergent vet. Otherwise you'll want to rule out an obstruction or laceration or something like that, so a regular vet visit and some kind of imaging may be in order. After that, if you still don't know what's wrong, that's when you start playing with diet and supplements. Cats are good at running off and hiding symptoms, so establishing a play-eat-sleep routine that mirrors yours is the best way to identify deviation. Also, it's really hot out so make sure they have lots of water.
Hi Majorie, As a speciality and emergency veterinary hospital, we do not offer routine spay/neuters. Your general practice veterinarian would be able to assist with this. They would require a physical exam prior. For future questions, please feel free to contact us at 518-783-3198 and speak to one of our Client Relations Representatives. Thank you, Upstate Veterinary Specialties

Rensselaer bird center on Washington Ave. Does parrot nails. They are good, quick and inexpensive.
Double check the number, they've always responded quickly...
They do but they only take emergency cases, no scheduled routine visits. My reg. Vet- Dr. CLEMENTE at Burnt Hills Vet just did fine needle aspirations on several of my dogs lumps. They are incredible there. Good luck!!
Upstate Veterinary is an emergency hospital & specialty care - think surgery & cardiology. Very $$$. Puppy 1st shots are best done at your regular vet or a clinic. As mentioned in another post, Tractor Supply runs very affordable clinics weekly. Call them for their schedule.
