Gravesite of Chester A. Arthur. Cemetery was so quiet and well kept.

A huge, beautifully maintained historic cemetery with plenty of walking trails, scenery and beautiful monuments. Fantastic to walk through in all seasons.

Very beautiful cemetery in menands ny that is the size of central park in manhattan as it will take you all day to see all the graves here. There are multiple entrances and exits here, st agnes cemetery next door and a Jewish cemetery next door. Heads up, a train crossing comes through here and it is active, the owner lives on site, menands police dept patrols here regularly, and do not come here after dark as it is easy to get lost, the police will arrest you if you are caught by them in the dark, coyotes in the woods and other wild animals, stay on the paths and roadways at all times, multiple roadways that have collapsed in this cemetery including a road in the middle ridge section next to the burden family vault, steep dropoffs here too!

We had heard that the 21st President of the United States was buried here. The office staff was helpful and gave us a map of the cemetery and we drove right to it. This place is huge and some of the headstones are quite elaborate.

Peggy Schuyler (Margaret Schuyler Van Rensselaer) was originally buried at a private family tomb on the grounds of the Van Rensselaer Manor. Her remains, along with those of other members of the Schuyler, Van Rensselaer, and Ten Broeck families were moved to Albany Rural Cemetery. She is still buried here in the Van Rensselaer family plot (Lot 1, Section 14).
There is no Karen Brown listed on the burial cards from 1791-2011. Do you have a date of birth or death?
Go to the office
Back left of north ridge. Go up north ridge to main crossroad. Turn right at section 99, left at 206. Take next left and 211 is at end on right. You can get map in bin on wall at cemetery main office.
Yes, the office is open, but they ask that people call, if possible, and make an appointment before coming.
