Dr. Newsum is a superior hand surgeon and a kind and compassionate man. He performed an emergency I&D at the bedside on my right hand following a severe dog bite. He constantly explained what he was doing while meticulously cleaning out each finger and and the wound itself. Dr. Newsum did such a great job that I was able to tell an immediate difference the next day with the swelling in my hand and arm. The infection was so severe that I required a 5-day hospital stay and around-the-clock antibiotic therapy. There is no doubt in my mind that Dr. Newsum saved my hand and fingers by doing such a thorough job and so quickly. I highly recommend this fantastic, young surgeon to anyone and everyone.

When my left hand had lost strength & function due to arthritis, I was referred to Dr. Newsum. I’d already seen some incredible work he’d done on my neighbor’s wrist after her Doctor in NY had refused to operate on it. Being an ER/ICU RN I am picky who I see and investigate first to include education, Residency, Fellowships, Board Certifications, Medical Board standing and patient satisfaction. I had my surgery June 16th and I am so very happy with Dr Newsum and my results. He patiently explained and included my husband and me in the decision-making. He gave me realistic expectations of the immediate post-op and recovery period. At 14 weeks post-op I am very pleased and consider him the quintessential surgeon.

Hi Genesis, Great question. In order to properly give you a diagnosis and understand how to fully treat your ailment, I need to see and feel your wrist in the office. When you're here, we can evaluate your wrist through an x-ray and physical exam which helps us develop a treatment plan specific for you.
