Helpful and caring staff. Brought home a 2 year old cat for my 83 year old mother. Please support this place, or any other shelter. They are all getting full of surrenders. Many Rental homes/apts don't allow pets and this the poor animals last stop. One will wish you could save them all, one or two will help.

I recommend this place personally because, when most people would have turned me away there was a petite girl with really long brown hair that went above and beyond to help me and a kitten in need!!!

Need more cages for homes. I have to wait till april to bring a kitten in for adoption..there is a lot of space for more cages.what a shame.. almost waste of tax payers taxes.

My daughter found a dog. We couldn't find her owners. We took her here and they can track down families and if not find new homes for pets.

No advance appointment needed! When you arrive at the shelter at 2020 Forest Street, tell the staff at the desk the type of pet you are looking for. They will point you in the right direction, and give you information about what to do when you see a dog or cat you would like to interact with. No limit on the number (just one at a time!) Good luck on finding your new Best Friend. A piece of advice: the shelter population changes daily, so if you don't see the right pet that day, be sure and return on another.
