I stayed in one of the places two weeks ago and the place was full of cockroaches… and it was just musty and disgusting. Probably not gonna rent from these guys ever again. It seems that they really take care of the owners of the property make sure they get paid but as a consumer/customer you get the short end of the stick.

If it were possible to write the world’s worst review, then that’s what this review should be. We simply cannot stress enough how it would be the worst idea for anybody considering renting a property to do business with Compass Realty. Compass Realty and its employees (except for one) were not only unpleasant, they were downright rude and condescending as well as generally unhelpful and untrustworthy. We rented a one-bedroom condo in Bahai Del Mar for one month. As soon as we walked into our unit, it was obvious to our entire party that the condo smelled extensively of smoke. Two members of our family are former smokers and are more than familiar with the smell of smoke and how it permeates the environment. The smell about knocked us over. Amazingly, the Compass Realty staff did not acknowledge this in any way but simply denied it based on the fact that their rules prohibit smoking. It was obvious that this rule had been violated by a previous tenant but Compass did nothing to address this. The unit itself was rudimentary. There was no coat rack or coat closet or anywhere to hang a jacket, other than the master bedroom closet. One garbage bag was provided in each garbage container: one in the kitchen, and one in each bathroom. No replacements were provided for our month-long visit. Evidently, we needed to buy our own.The owners evidently expect you to clean the unit during your stay but don’t provide any cleaning implements except a Swiffer wet mop, which didn’t include any replacement wipes other than the one on it. No broom, vacuum, rags, dust pan, or cleaning agents were provided. The kitchen included a dishwasher but no dishwasher pods. The fitted sheet on the bed was old and fit loosely and constantly came out from under the mattress. The pillows were mismatched and didn’t fit the pillow cases. The mattress cover was ripped and could not be zipped, so that half of it folded over and moved around, making it impossible to sleep comfortably. The headboard was not attached correctly to the bed; it banged against the wall every time we moved in bed. Towels looked like leftovers from various old sets, none of them matching one another. The blinds in the bedroom were missing numerous blades, so light came through first thing in the morning. It was impossible to regulate the heat and air conditioning. The doors to the utility closets did not close, nor did the door to the master bedroom closet, which was old and in disrepair. The management company at Bahia Del Mar is well aware of these concerns, but they refuse to do anything to address them. There is one towel rack in the master bathroom with enough room for one bath towel. When I mentioned this, I was told that that I could purchase a rack to hang over the bathroom door if I wanted to hang a second towel. There was a high-pitched whining sound in the powder room due to a worn-out seal in the toilet. Again, the management was well aware of this and admitted that it’s a problem but did nothing to correct this during our stay. The management staff, especially, Ray, the maintenance man, are rude and convey a complete disregard for customers’ complaints. Ray told us directly that it was simply our “prerogative” not to rent again from them if we didn’t like the way things were there. Ray is arrogant and rude and smells like cigarettes. He makes no effort to repair things that need repair; he gets them to work temporarily without replacing the parts that need replacement. There is no way of getting recompense for any of these issues because Compass Realty requires customers to pay in full prior to the rental period. We would never recommend Bahia Del Mar or Compass Realty to anyone.

Best affordable vacation rentals in the area! I highly, highly recommend and can’t thank Charlene and her team enough! I was doing medical treatment in the Clearwater area after searching all the typical rental companies I stumbled on Compass Vacation Rentals. Not only were their rentals clean, modern and perfect for our needs after the fees from the other rental sites Compass was much more affordable! We’ve been here 2 months in two different units and couldn’t be happier. The community is beautiful, tons of amenities and both units have been extremely clean (which is great because I’m a clean freak). Besides the facilities the best part of the experience has been working with Charlene. She has gone above and beyond to make this experience enjoyable and memorable. I’ve needed to add additional nights and she has handled every request in an extremely timely manner and has always made me feel like it’s never a bother. The customer service is top notch like staying at a resort! Thank you to everyone especially Charlene for our wonderful stay!

I, enthusiastically, recommend Compass Vacation Rentals as a wonderful source for your rental needs. We have rented condos through Compass for our adult children and their families every Christmas for the last number of years. Everyone has been a pleasure to work with. They are all professional and very helpful. Charlene has been great to work with every time. Whatever your needs are, she works tirelessly to help you out. We did run into a problem this year; Charlene helped us to resolve it. Once again, I highly recommend Compass as a first rate agency for all of your rental needs.
