Ice House Theater is very well appointed. The mostly volunteer staff is welcoming, helpful and engaging. As to the productions presented, I've yet to be disappointed. However, the house seating needs to be upgraded.

What a wonderful experience. Staff and facility are impressive and the show was first rate: very well acted with top class sets. Need to check it on out!

A delightful experience for this first time visitor. The ladies at the refreshment stand (limited to wine, water, and soft drinks) were outstanding in making me feel welcome. My tickets had been purchased in advance and were dutifully ready when I arrived, neatly aligned for easy acquirement. The theater, though small, appears well equipped for both lighting and sound (voices are microphone enhanced, possibly needful as the actors were forced to wear appropriate COVID19 gear.) The set was exceptionally well done with doors that seemed like REAL doors, actually opening and closing as if some detail had gone into their construction. As for the play, Shady Business. It was well done for the available company of players. The two lead women were thoroughly prepared and carried out their parts with wit and style. Unfortunately, without my program I am unable to name them but they should be recognized for their talent. My only criticism would be that some of the dialog was so swiftly spoken that it was at times difficult to follow. The gentlemen in the play were adequate but the talent differences with the women were noticeable. The young man in the lead of an FBI agent also performed well and without giving away the plot, the surprise ending was a delight. The Director should be recognized for an exceptional job in staging the work. And again, the set design allowed for numerous entrances and exits that benefitted the action. As a previous Director and Performer, I can fully appreciate the efforts of actors and crew. I recommend a visit to the theater for an afternoon or evening out for an engaging and enjoyable experience. (My apologies for the photography but without permission I declined to take more serious photos. But the set is viewable here.)

When to buy season tickets

Lois Zimmer | Sep 6, 2018
The IceHouse Theatre | Sep 6, 2019

Season Ticket sales begin in Feb. for renewing subscribers, and in March for new subscribers. When the New Subscription Sales Forms are available (in Feb and March) we suggest you submit as soon as you can. The new sales are processed chronologically to when the requests are received by the Box Office, so the earliest submitted requests have more choice of seats. The IceHouse is approximately 45% subscribed (pre-sold) at every performance, so the sooner you contact us, the better. Our productions have many performances that sell-out in advance. We look forward to serving you. (352) 383-4616. The Box Office is open, Tues - Friday, 1:00 - 5:00 pm and one hour before every performance. You may leave a phone msg 24/7 and you'll be called back asap. Thanks!
