During these crazy times, I’m thankful that the county agency has provided consistent guidance and messaging about Covid-19 vaccinations, testing and care. Not only has my family received our vaccinations from the county in a timely fashion, but I work in the human services field and feel comfortable knowing my clients are well served by the county staff. Thanks to all of the Sarasota County Health Dept Team. Well done!

The North Port office is a joke, receptionist is rude as a rat and seems to think she is talking to her child! The nurse is nice though. I left several messages over a month ago to schedule an appointment and no one even bother to call me back. The Sarasota office staff is professional, respectful and prompt.

Unfortunately, while I had no access to affordable health insurance, I was uninsured for 18 years & had to put up with the very low quality of healthcare at Centerplace/Sarasota County Health Dept. Even when I had different jobs & paid on a sliding scale, staff & doctors treated me very badly, were highly negligent (mostly out of laziness) & very disorganized. I was miserable with several serious conditions they neglected to treat & couldn't keep a job. I was denied Disability & SSI Benefits. Staff violated my private medical information under HIPPA Laws. A nurse who worked there TAMPERED WITH MY MEDICAL RECORDS (who was also a neighbor) & spread false rumors about me, influencing staff & my doctors. Despite NOT being a direct patient of hers, she INTERFERED WITH MY MEDICAL RECORDS BY MAKING FALSE STATEMENTS IN MY RECORDS & hindered my efforts to receive treatment that I needed. In fact, one of the clinic's doctor rudely said to me:"You're too much work" & suddenly informed me that I was no longer his patient. The onsite pharmacy staff were very openly & aggressively vocal in their disapproval of letting me get my prescriptions & OVERCHARGED me for medications I'd been approved of & eligible for! Each appointment with Dr. El Khatib consisted of getting yelled at by him every time he misplaced my blood work & any relevant information, being given completely different stories by the same dr. each appointment & watching him cluelessly try to decipher the results of my bloodwork. He clearly doesn't know what he's doing & FAILED TO IDENTIFY THE MISDIAGNOSIS of Hepatitis C by Nurse Natalie who treated me like a junkie-criminal instead of a patient. She ignorantly accused me of being an IV drug user despite NEGATIVE drug tests & the fact that it can be transmitted through sex. I was given inconsistent information about getting treatment & was told to wait for treatment. After waiting almost one year for nothing, I never got any treatment. I finally left when I got a a job & an affordable insurance plan. The quality of healthcare has been 100% better! After thorough testing, my GI Specialist diagnosed me as being NEGATIVE for Hepatitis C & INSTEAD FOUND A DIFFERENT ISSUE THAT DOCTORS AT THIS CLINIC DISCOVERED YEARS AGO BUT ENTIRELY NEGLECTED TO TREAT. What a HUGE RELIEF not having to deal the most disorganized, nasty, incompetent group of people! The State is wasting their money on people who don't do their jobs for patients who need the help!

I was treated pretty well. There were a few patients that were rude, causing staff to be a bit on edge but they took it well. I went for blood work and vaccines. No blow outs or discomfort during my shots. They were very nice and super helpful!

Yes you need an appointment.
Yes you can. Go to the immunization department located to the left side of the building if you are looking at the front
Yes.
yes you can, they have an immunizations department around the side of the building
If you are self pay then it operates on a sliding scale. The only reason I go is because it's one of the very few places that takes my insurance. If you want to make an appointment you'd need to go and see if you qualify and it's all based on your income. So, when you go you'll need to take paperwork such as proof of income both for you and if you have a husband/partner. You'll need photo ID and also proof of residency. It'll be helpful if you take copies of all your bills too as that factors in to determine your eligibility. You can give them a call and set up an appointment for qualification. I wouldn't recommend this place, but I definitely understand the need if you are strapped for cash and have no insurance. Some of the staff are friendly and for basic medical care they are qualified and somewhat competent, but expect long waits. I wish you the best, but if you have options other than here go elsewhere.
