Most mismanaged office ive ever come into contact with. My husband has been out of his blood pressure medications now for 6 weeks. He's requested refills for a 90 day supply both through CVS and Optum RX but of course they state that they never got these requests. Meanwhile Optum RX states the req. had been denied. My husband is in every three months for a checkup and was just in last week for refills and yet none were sent. I've had to call twice today to get these sent in and she states that they have officially been sent. Fingers crossed they actually make it to the pharmacy. I also had to look up the pharmacies number so that she could send it. I'm sorry but I've worked in family practice for years and have years of experience with their EMR system (ECW) and they are either lazy, or just not aware of how to properly check charts, incoming faxes and escripts. And clearly they don't know how to search for pharmacies in the area either. Also a friend of mine was seen there as a new patient a few months ago, and was scheduled with one of the MDs but said that he never got to actually meet or see this person, was seen by either a PA or NP who never actually introduced herself. He felt rushed and pushed to the side. This place needs new management or retraining.

TL;DR: Staff unprofessional, inexperienced, discourteous, and reckless. I moved to the area and this provider was in network with my insurance company. I spent a lot of time researching providers, but I guess it wasn't enough. They were over an hour late for my appointment, and the office staff was unapologetic and unprofessional. I had some specific questions about medication I'm on, and Dr. Shaver was unfamiliar with the medication or why I was on it. When I asked my questions, I noticed him looking on his phone, and still was unable to answer my questions. I then waited another 45 minutes before anyone came to check me out. I wasted half of my day for this "appointment". I later learned that Walgreens never received my prescription order. I called the practice on Wednesday 2/23, to inquire about my prescriptions. I left a message with the receptionist. Someone else from the office ended up emailing me through the patient portal, which I was not familiar with, being that I'm new, and learned that they sent the prescriptions to CVS, despite my request for them to Walgreens. I'm not sure where they got CVS from, as I have used Walgreens for years. I wasn't able to access the email until Saturday 2/26, and now am out of an important medication as I do not know which CVS my prescription was sent to. The courtesy of a return call could have saved me much aggravation. Needless to say, I would not recommend this practice, nor will I use them again.

Dr. Steven Shaver is 10+ stars as a PCP! He has some of the best bedside manner I have experienced with doctors- taking each of my concerns seriously, and never making me feel rushed or pressured. The star is lost due to waiting times. They are most definitely short staffed and you should avoid making any plans for quite some time after your appt time ... just in case...

I have been going here over 2 years now. I love this place, all the staff are very friendly and treat you with respect. I especially love seeing Christina Fisher, ARNP -C, she is very understanding and takes the time to listen to you! I am moving to Tennessee and really going to miss her and the staff! I hope I can find a Medical Center up there that is as awesome as they are!! I am going to miss you all!!

I have had no problems with the Hudson Gulf Coast, they have been extremely helpful with cost since we are self paid even for tests and MRI. I think Steven Strobbe and Jose Pascual are both great doctors.
