My mom was a resident at the oaks of kissimmee. Each time I went there it was very clean and the nursing staff was excellent. Housekeeping was in perfect condition, no oders, no trash laying around. The building was spotless each time I went. I couldn't ask for a better nursing home to care for my mother when i couldnt. My moms call light was answered in a timely matter each call and staff came in with a smile and a greeting each time. I would definitely recommend this nursing home to friends and family.

Overall bad. Very slow responses when the patient in the room presses the button to signal the "aide" and there is one call light for each room so when they cancel it, they may actually be cancelling 2 calls. I don't think that they can tell which person in the room pressed the button or if both pressed it. Food is not so good and they serve at odd intervals (4 hours between breakfast and lunch but 6 hours between lunch and dinner). The aides help serve the meals and they use that as an excuse that they are "busy" and wont respond to room calls until they are done giving out or collecting food trays. The facility smells bad (like urine). The stupid "aides" check the blood sugar then take a long time to come back with the insulin when it is MUCH more efficient to just bring the insulin with them since they know they will likely need it. Ostomy bag installation is bad as my mom's bag leaked many times on her bedsheets, on her clothes, on the floor... and they don't drain it frequently like they are supposed to. Staff used my personal ostomy supplies without my permission and then failed to replace them upon discharge. Facility is not maintained well (for example, they have wall receptacles coming out of the wall which is likely an electrical code violation and a safety issue). Rooms have 2 occupants and are VERY small. There is only a pull curtain to separate the 2 beds so any noise from the other person (talking, coughing, snoring...) is easily heard by the other occupant. The bathroom has access from both sides so that means up to 4 residents can use the same toilet and someone may walk in on you while you are in the bathroom because the doors do not lock. If you have a choice, I would highly recommend looking elsewhere. They have caused my mom much distress here because they seem to ignore her when she calls for a "nurse" or they take very long to reply. There are very few good people here such as the PT (Physical Therapy) and OT (Occupational Therapy) people and a few of the aides, but overall they are mostly bad, lazy, and stupid. Look elsewhere! Oaks of Kissimmee is bad! Ignore the old reviews, those are outdated and some are likely written by staff here to artificially boost the rating. The "true" rating of this place should be about a 1 or a 1.5 out of 5 which I would say is very bad. I am actually in the facility now writing this review so it is accurate. Bad experiences here. Notice how they only respond to the good reviews and seem to ignore the bad ones. That is also how they operate here as well. I filed many complaints on the comment cards supplied here but they don't seem to be doing much (or anything) about them. I suspect they figure the residents are short term so they can "ignore" the complaints since those tenants will be gone in a short amount of time. Awful. Update May 2nd, 2019. I went back after my mom had been discharged about 3 weeks ago and they gave me some ostomy supplies that I requested, returned an item I left there (although it seems they made no attempt to contact me about it during the past 3 weeks), and it seems they actually restocked the refreshment area so maybe there is some hope for this place after all.

Well I use to work this nursing home and this is a company that doesn't care about patient or employees. They like to temper with workers files and say people were fired and never were. I believe someone tempered with my work files and said I was fired. I worked there for 3 years and never had problems. I left on good terms and was told if i wanted to come back I could and I gave a 2 week notice. I know who tempered with my files, I just need to prove it. I don't recommend this nursing home to anyone for work or to place a loved one
