Visited a HUD subsidized apartment complex today specially designed for senior housing. For those of you not familiar with this federal program there are income maximums. To make a long bureaucratic process short, the resident must pay 1/3 of income. This particular HUD property is probably one of the finest in Pinellas County Florida. First of all. Upon entry into lobby area, one immediately thinks you entering a 4 star hotel....comfortable, inviting, tranquil and immaculate. The reception area is conveniently located and receptionist cordial and businesslike. I presented an application, multiplayer by the way, and she thoroughly investigated my responses, line by line, page by page. Much to my chagrin, she did find some errors or omissions! She patiently instructed me to fix them and thus the application was accepted. So that is the good news...She concludes by saying there is a waiting list for at least one year and most likely a year and a half! Evidently this is the norm in this area in regards to HUD properties. Section 8 housing five year waiting list and applications are not accepted. So if your are a senior and seeking housing, be aware that occupancy is not immediate. My suggestion is to plan ahead if you know your income will not support your current residency or physically you do not have enough energy or desire the upkeep.

I moved a dear friend into Peterboroug in 2009. After 11 years living there, she could not be happier. The management, staff & maintenance crew provide excellent service. The property is always clean & well kept, has variety of wellness assistance, social activities & even has a small store to accommodate renters. The apartments were completely renovated a couple of years ago & are lovely. Highly recommended.

Well, theres gping to be a lot more homeless, becuz ppl cant afford the high prices that the greedy landlords are asking
There's usually a bus service through neighborly transportation. Most buildings have computers in a clubroom
This installation is a section 8 housing facility...Your rent will be determined by what your income is... I'm on Social security, therefore my rent is one third of my income... It's best to go in person and ask the friendly people at the front desk if you're qualified... I'm very happy there...
Chase is 6 blocks,10th Ave n and 4th St,2 Publix nearby not sure about Walgreens but there is a CVS very close
Senior HUD apartments rent is based on income.I was told the apts are about 500 sq ft
There is a long waiting list to get in here. It is a controlled rent for over 55. They have a front desk person who can probably answer your questions and send you to the powers that be
