I gave a 3 star rating , simply because of the convenience . As far as organization is concerned.....that'd get a 1 maybe 2 star. Not enough staff to assist folks that decide to pull up to a bin ...with no regard for everyone else and take up the ENTIRE space! Leaving everyone else at a stand still in line. Personally, when you've got around a 40 ft sq space for 30 plus vehicles to share and dispose of their waste....but almost 3 acres set aside for small tree limbs and leaves....there's a problem!!! What I'm saying is.....EXPAND!!!!! It's high time that place was revamped!! All in all, it's a great idea, but is being poorly executed! UPDATE- ( 6/3/22 ) ...If you value NOT getting screws or nails or glass in your tires....avoid this place. Apparently they don't believe in keeping their roadways clean. Had them at 3 stars because of convenience, NOW ....2 STARS. ...OH don't want to forget that NOW you're only allowed to go 2 TIMES in a single day. Used to be as many as ya could so long as they were open. So, heads up folks.

Go there probably, ten times a year. Place is always neat and staff is friendly and helpful. Guess my only complaint would be with some of the customers who can't follow directions or that think rules apply to everyone but them. Keep up the good work guys. I appreciate having this convenience available to me.

To whom is reading this, I was there about 10 am on the 18th. My son pulls in by the yard wast area, he goes to back the truck up and accidentally tap the cone, A an employee starts screaming and calling my son names and then turns around and gives him the finger. I was dumb founded. Yes, my yelled back! This employee has anger issues. Then he thinks he is going to report us!

We have used this transfer station for 6 years and we love this place. They will take almost anything. I just dropped off some construction debris from a remodeling project and I have dropped off at least 20 loads of branches and brush in the last 6 years. The guy at the entrance asks for your address to make sure you live in Hernando county and what you have and directs you to the area for your drop off. No charge for any of this. What a deal and the workers are actually nice folks.

Yes they have an electronics recycling bin for flat tv and the like
What days are you accepting carpet
Yes there is a special bin to offload it into.
No commercial vehicles..but the one on 92 does allows commercial traffic..
Complete run around. No answer, no response to messages left directly on supervisors voicemail.

Yes but must be dried out ..i think ..i went lastweek and i saw a bunch of paint cans..
NO PROBLEM ,,,
Hernando Solid Waste web site states trailers must be smaller that 5x10 with no more than 2 foot high sides
No, they just recycle plastic bottles, and larger plastic object s.
Yes there's a line now
Not anymore.
Yes
Maegan is right about the restictions on size but if you cut the tree up they'll take it. If it's a massive tree then you'll need to go where Manuel said, off of Ponce de Leon I believe.
Yes
None of them take glass anymore.
Yes...
You have garbage this is place
Yes, they do take boxes and they need to be crushed/flattened.
Yes
Yes
Yes
Looked like they pretty much take anything. It's well organized and recommend just stopping by in advanced to ask before you haul it over there.

Yes they do. They will direct you as to what dumpster to put it in
Yes
Yes
No
Not that I have ever seen.
I am 99% sure the answer is no. They verify your name and address to make sure you are a tax paying county resident.
Nope
Yes
Idk I think as many as u can
Yes they do. They also have a used oil collection area, yard waste, metal, household garbage as well as cardboard bins to name a few
Could call them I dont know
Yes they do
If they're empty, then it should be fine to dispose however you see fit. To be sure, I would rinse them with your pool water a couple times to dilute any remaining acid.
no
You can take it to a hospital or possibly a doctor's office. Hospital will take care of it though.
They don't do commercial waste, but for personal use it should be fine. They will have you flatten the boxes first before puting them in the compactors.
Probably not. They'll most likely have you deposit it at the main dump. I tried giving them a hot tub once and they sent me away. Hot tub is bigger than a regular tube, but I'd say chances are high they'll refuse it.
Yes we do. We take any size and type of television
They do, but I believe there is a limit. Also not from a business, just from personal use.
5 foot wide by 10 foot long by 2 foot high no enclosed trailers or non contained loads. Example loose trash.
Yes. They have hazardous liquid drop off right inside the main gate on the left
You can take them to the transfer station to avoid paying a fee.
I dropped two tires off a couple months ago.
Yes
Yes they do
They have a construction debris dumpster unless you are a contractor then you have to go to the one in Brooksville
They accept 8 tires per year per household.
I know its 9 to 5 on Saturday...i work during the week so never been there on week days
I wish i had a better answer for this location. Now i do know if you go to the main land fill.... You can dump up to 2,000 pounds of waste for free. After that it is pay to dump
Construction dumpster fills up early and they only have 1 a day available, so try and get there before 11 AM
Why is there no answer to this important question. They mention these items being hazordous waste & give instructions on how to dispose but no days or times on when to do it?? N never a person picking up a phone there? Really?? Wow
They're also closed on Mondays, at least at the one by Walmart just off 19.
Take them to the Hernando County landfill. Or you can try staples or Best buy
Yes, you sure can.
Yes until 5pm
No we do not take gas at this location we only take cooking oil and used car oil. The main landfill located on 98 takes anything that you need to throw away.
Yes you can
Yes they do have recycling bins for any type of paper, aluminum, glass and cardboard.
It's not guaranteed but try going by around 9am to see if they are open today. I'm temp worker it supposed to be open today and I won't know until I get there.
yes
As far as I know it will open tomorrow Saturday 9th. Now next week on Tuesday the 12th will depend on how bad the hurricane hit us but most likely will be open.
No sticker. License plate shows you are from that area.
