We usually camp down by the river. Pros: easy access to river, they pick up the trash, and provide firewood at a low cost! Cons: very expensive ($30 nightly per person) and falling trees! It is scary with kids running around. They need to cut down the rotten trees. One tree fell down in the river and it would have severely injured anyone swimming there. It wasn’t windy or raining. Also basecamp needs cleaning and updating!

We just spent the weekend at eagles landing. Rustic look on a very large open place. Had a nice welcome home feel to it. Hot tub on the back deck made night time star viewing all the better. Sitting by the campfire listening to the shenandoah right next to us was by far the highlight of the weekend. Peaceful, relaxing. I only wish we had more time there. Will definitely be booking again in the future.

Spent 2 nights at Eagles Landing Cabin and regret not booking thru the Easter weekend! While we were three guests, the cabin has ample room to sleep 6. The rooms were clean with a rustic decor. Kitchen had all the necessities, I recommend stopping by the Walmart in Luray to stock up on food for the grill...don’t forget the charcoal! The living room had plenty of space to lounge and watch TV on a new big flat screen LCD. We spent time in the screened patio and had a blast playing ping pong. Most of our stay we spent outdoors, and that’s where this cabin differentiates itself. Wow what amazing views of the Shenandoah river!! The cabin is situated right on a river bend, where you can hear the river rippling through, very peaceful. I recommend checking out the sunsets and sunrises! Added plus was the ample space on the lot to toss a football or hang by a large rock fire pit, perfect for marshmallow roasting! There were 6 log stumps around the fire pit that functioned as stools! We enjoyed the available canoe and fished right from the property shoreline! Kids will enjoy the new hot tub that is situated on the back deck overlooking the river. The deck that has plenty of seating for outdoor meals or just relaxing while overlooking the river. If folks want to venture out there’s shopping and the Caverns in Luray. We stopped by Cooters Garage, a must visit for any Dukes of Hazard fans!! I recommend Eagles Landing for a cabin getaway, we will definitely return!

I went camping at The Country Place with my boyfriend and a large group of friends (13 total) and had a great experience. We were astounded by the amenities: a dishwasher, three fridges, large grills, a screened in dining area complete with a T.V., ping pong, basketball, and a path down to the river. This place was amazing. The best part of this place was the nightly visits from the owner, Gayle. Every night she came to ask if we had everything we needed and to tell us about the facilities. The last night we stayed, we even got to hear about the amazing life she has lived and her interesting family. Some of my friends have camped across the United States and Canada. Even they were impressed at all The Country Place has to offer. I would absolutely recommend camping here and can't wait to go back. If you're considering it, just do it! You will not regret it.
