I recommend staying at the Mimslyn Inn if you are looking for a vintage/modern hotel. The reason I say vintage is because a lot of the furniture is vintage looking and the place is historic but I also say modern because the room we stayed in had a very nice updated modern bathroom. Our bathroom had a very nice spacious jetted tub in it and the room itself was very big. The staff was polite and friendly. We ate at the two restaurants inside of the hotel both nights that we stayed and the food was phenomenal. They have a big porch in the front with lots of comfortable chairs to sit and relax and enjoy the view of the beautiful Luray and mountains. Another great thing about the hotel is it had a pool and hot tub in the back opened 9am until 10 pm which we enjoyed relaxing at. I highly recommend staying there if those things meet your standards.

The hotel is beautiful and stately sitting on top of a rolling hill. The lobby is elegant and our room is furnished with beautiful wooden furniture. The best part of our stay is the dinner at the Speakeasys restaurant. Food were well prepared, traditional menu with modern flair. Everything was delicious. I would come back here again just for the food. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

Stayed for a couple nights during the week. Appreciated the period correct furniture in the room. Bed was comfortable and the water could get dangerously hot. Unfortunately both restaurants in the hotel were closed. The view was nice of the mountains. Staff was very nice. My only gripe is they had painters painting across the hall early in the morning. Definitely this is the best hotel in the Luray/Shanadoah area.

We stayed at a small cottage and I thought it would be small but it was actually twice the size a typical hotel room. It was tucked behind the main house next to the other cottages with lots of parking and designated parking per cottage. The cottage had so much to offer and the our stay was lovely. I didn’t even know there was a complementary breakfast of coffee/tea, muffin and quiche with cut fruit. Nice little bite before we headed off. The check in process was so easy. We were sent all the instructions through email. Also, there are two restaurants in the hotel so we didn’t have to step out for dinner. There was a charming man that played and sang while we ate at The Speakeasy. Wonderful!
