Sakura Japanese Restaurant & Sushi Bar

I was looking for a local sushi bar and a neighbor recommended Sakura. The sushi is fresh and delicious. I haven’t had to wait more than 10 minutes for seats at the bar on Friday or Saturday night and the owners usually ask how our meal is. That being said, last Friday was noticeably different – not enough to keep me from coming back, just different. The vibe was a little chaotic (maybe because the owners weren’t there?), the restaurant was so loud I couldn’t hear my date sitting less than a foot away from me. But the sushi was still great

Great Japanese restaurant, been here in LA for a long time. Its quite loud and busy inside but the food is great! We were seated within minutes even though it was very busy. Courteous and kind service. There are 3 sushi chefs at the bar. Positive atmosphere.

Great food and outstanding service. The sushi was so neatly prepared and delicious, and the prices were totally reasonable for LA. The best part of the meal, though, was the service! Even though we ended up being the only ones outside and the place was relatively busy, we were attended to frequently. The owner came out, made sure the heat lamp was working for us, checked in on us to make sure our order was 100% what we wanted and then offered some great suggestions. She was an absolute delight, as were the other waiters who checked in on us. Honestly since this pandemic started I forgot that service could still be so good.

If you love Japanese food this is THE PLACE to enjoy it!!! Everything is fresh, everything is delicious, I saw those big platters with freshly cut fish, teriyaki salmon, sushi, sake....they're open from 5 to 9.... very good service, nice staff...
