Motel 6 Anaheim, CA - Maingate

This is one of the Disney partner places to stay that you can book as part of their packages. That being said it's a step up from normal Motel 6s. We'd booked a two queen beds room, but we're given a two double beds room. With 3 adults sharing the room, it was very uncomfortable. Sharing beds was hard. The Motel is undergoing some renovations, but our room wasn't one of those renovated ones. The layout was fine. We did have adequate space. The bathtub/shower had extremely low water pressure. The toilet felt like a kiddie toilet because it was so low to the ground. Due to Covid restrictions, there was no making up of the room each day. The front desk, however, was excellent. Our check in was handled with efficiency and pleasantness. Kudos to those behind that desk! Our stay was good and our room quiet. Due to renovations, however, parking can be a little tricky.

We stayed for 5 days in this hotel. Ms. Jasmine & Ms. Johnie were super nice and very attentive. Great customer service, ask for those two ladies to help you. They really go out to help you and Mr. Anthony too was very helpful when I was having problems with the laundry vending machine. Our room #478 was very clean & quiet. Queen beds were absolutely comfortable no complaints. We had a view of the fireworks from our window. We really enjoyed the jacuzzi after a long walk from Disneyland Parks. My kids took advantage of the pool as well. This Motel 6 Maingate will be our go to place to stay if we’re ever back in Anaheim, California. And lastly the price were very affordable compared to the near by hotels.

This motel is extremely bare bones. I wanted to try it because it’s so much cheaper than others in the Disneyland area. It is affordable, reasonably clean, and reasonably safe, and if it’s what you need to do in order to afford a Disney trip, it’s okay. But there is no microwave, no refrigerator, no drain plug for the tub (they give you a wash cloth to stuff into the drain), no hair dryer, no tissues, and NO ELEVATOR. You must carry all your stuff up two flights of cement stairs if you’re on the 3rd floor like we were. There is also no place to get breakfast so plan on walking/driving somewhere or bring your own. Beds are hard and there’s only one thin blanket and the sheets and pillows. There’s a weird double door on the bathroom that is really hard to close and makes a lot of noise. And very little water pressure in the bathroom sink.

Loved how welcome they made us feel. Never make it personal about the parking, security is just doing their job so just make sure to have your parking pass. My son and I had a blast at this location and felt so great while we've been trying to get adjusted here! Thank you Sara and Johnny for your great customer service and the ability to go above and beyond for us!
