Medium difficulty hike with variety of terrain. Some rock scrambling so wear good shoes. Spectacular views of Delaware water gap. Plenty of other great hiking options close by and swimming in river to cool off after

Loved this hike. It was def a challenge. Took the red trail up, & blue down. Almost 3 hours but can be done in 2 depending on your pace. Beautiful waterfall/ lake at the bottom of the blue trail. There are baby bears around & deer.

Great hike, only 2 nice look outs near the beginning, but the rest is still nice with some waterfalls near the end. Be ready for a slow uphill climb, up-rock climb i mean. Very very rocky. Great loop trail.

Not an easy hike, but well worth it. Incredible views on the straight climb up and then relax in the waterfall on your way down. We did it in about 2 hours: up red and down blue. Watch out for spotted lantern flies at viewpoints.

Questions & Answers

How far is it to walk to the top from route 80? Or how long is the trail to the top.

1.5 miles up the Red Dot (Mt Tammany) Trail and 1000 foot of elevation gain. It is a very rocky and rough trail. Please make sure you are prepared and are carrying the 10 Essentials for Hiking when you go. I have hauled many people down off this trail because they thought it was a quick hike and they weren't prepared!

The restrooms were all locked except for one stall over at the Kittatinny Point Visitor Center parking lot. I do believe there was a Porta Potty near there also.
