We were referred to HiTech by a local repair shop who said, "If you have an Alex Duetto, I wouldn't trust anyone else with it. You have to take it to HiTech." In two weeks we have our espresso machine back, in great condition, and with great tips on how to make better espresso and coffee, and maintenance. Extremely pleased and thankful we have a local repair shop who takes such good care of these machines.

My roommate and I sent an inquiry earlier today about some issues we are experiencing with a Breville home espresso machine. It's out of warranty, expensive to ship—and a knowledgeable, local, experienced technician seemed like a better choice for diagnosis and repair than sending it back to the manufacturer. The inquiry was concise but detailed, detailing the issue, what we've tried (in terms of back-flushing/descaling) to address it, and our lack of expertise about what to do next. Pretty standard, I'd say. Dave's response was one sentence: "We never work on that junk." You know, if he'd said, "Sorry, we don't work on Breville machines," or something to the effect of, "We only service professional-grade products," I'd have just moved on. Or, if the HiTech Espresso website—which I visited prior to making the suggestion to reach out—had detailed any of this, again, no problem. Bottom line is, maybe don't be a jerk unnecessarily and without cause? We might all want a La Marzocco Linea Mini sitting on our countertop at home, but some of us just don't have $7,000 lying around...

My Expobar Brewtus II was taken to this vendor for general maintenance and tuneup. At the time, was in full working order with no leaks. Upon pickup, the machine had a bad leak and was starting to short out and malfunction. I contacted the vendor and he was defensive, angry and aggressive on the phone. He continued to send me harassing emails after my initial call, until I told him to stop contacting me. I took the unit to another reputable repair person who indicated that the leak was created during repairs at hightechespresso caused a shorting out of the "PID" unit which requires replacement. Current estimated costs are $400 including parts and labor. This is on top of what I already paid Dave. The other vendor also indicated that Dave has anger-management issues and is known for this in the industry. Given the combination of poor workmanship and inappropriate behavior, I cannot recommend him to others.

I brought in my 30+ year old Pavoni and Dave restored it to brand new! I can't say enough about the quality and professionalism of these guys. Great work! When other companies refused to work on my unit, HiTech Espresso rose to the challenge and went above and beyond my expectations.
