Another great coastal hike. Found parking near Moss Beach and then hiked north to Montara Beach and then south to Pillar point beach. 10 miles of great coastal views, though in some places had to go through neighborhoods and a short distance walk on HWY 1.

This place has a very cool marsh habitat with I think it’s herons or egrets I definitely recommend bringing binoculars. I saw a shipwreck and a lot of other ships in the foggy early morning. There was a lot of dogs not everyone obeyed the leash laws, personally I think maybe there shouldn’t be dogs allowed because this is a very popular place for harbor seals according to the signs. I did not see any harbor seals but I wouldn’t blame them for not coming here because of all the dogs.

Beautiful ocean and beach. Very rocky waters and a beautiful view. Nice and easy walk next to the ocean for a few miles.

Absolutely BEAUTIFUL run along cliffs next to the ocean. Ended on the beach. Friends thought I was crazy for going body surfing in ice cold 🥶 water in mid-Nov. You can't get me that close to the 🌊 and not expect me to go in! I'm part 🐟!

Yes portable ones
No. Dogs are not allowed on the beaches within Fitzgerald Marine Reserve and ALL of the beaches, from Ross' Cove up to Kelp Beach near the Montara Lighthouse, are all part of the reserve. Leased dogs are allowed on the Jean Lauer bluff trail above Ross' Cove though.
