I am a disabled Veteran of the 1991 Persian Gulf War. I was diagnosed a number of years ago with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and a number of other very debilitating physical symptoms, including extremely severe deep muscle pain throughout all of my major muscle groups, chronic unexplained skin rash, cognitive dysfunction, etc., etc. After dealing with quite a number of uncaring and borderline incompetent physicians at the Long Beach VA Medical Center I finally gave up and used my military retirement Healthcare plan to see Dr. Chia. This man is one of the absolute best physicians I have ever encountered. He took the time to fully understand my symptoms, ran numerous laboratory tests and came to the conclusion that I suffer from what is called an "Enterovirus". The proof is in the blood, tissue, and muscle biopsy samples he obtained through his own lab, from my VA and military records, and from the UC Irvine Pathology Department. There is no cure for my illness but I am now at peace finally understanding what it is that has so dramatically changed my life over the past two decades. I highly recommend Dr. Chia to anyone suffering from severe fatigue and other muscular skeletal disorders. He is renowned in his field and even the Department of Veterans Affairs in Washington DC refers to his research papers in various medical committees and study groups. On a scale of 1 to 10, Dr Chia is a 20. Semper Fidelis, David K. Winnett, Jr. Captain, USMC (Ret.)

Dr. Chia is absolutely dedicated to his patients. His knowledge base is incredible. He travels the world to numerous conferences and presents case studies to further spread awareness of ME/CFS. It was him that diagnosed me almost 4 years ago. Although there is no current cure for the illness, his commitment to providing his patients with quality of life is admirable. He is definitely cutting edge and his tireless efforts have proven to be successful in my case. I was bedbound for 3 months before diagnosis. Thanks to him I was able to return to a more normal life and to work full time once again. I simply cannot say enough about him. I am a healthcare professional and had taken care of his patients in the past. What a humbling experience to have become one of them.

I’ve been seeing Dr Chia for ME/CFS for over ten years. He believes ME/CFS is cause by an enterovirus. Some people have gone into remission with his protocol. He also gets involved with the NIH and CDC. Very kind and patient. He also presents at conferences that are working to understand ME/CFS and are working towards on a cure.

Dr. Chia was worth the wait to see him the first time and has been a blessing since meeting him for the first time. He validated so much for and while there is no current cure for ME/CFS I have been lucky to have more good days than bad. I am so thankful for him. He is an amazing physician. Thank you Dr. Chia!

Rheumatologist treat fibromyalgia. It is known that fibromyalgia may have been caused by a virus called Epstein Barr virus. 99% of the population have it, it is just dormant. When it becomes active, you will have me/cfs. It is a vicious cycle. You would benefit from making an appointment with Dr. Chia to cover all bases.

Two or three times a week I experience extreme fatique, which starts with light headache and runny noses. When these happens, I keep yawning and cannot do any physical exercise and thinking. Often I fall into sleep. Do you treat this illness?

You must have a referral from your primary physician to get an appointment with Dr. Chia. After the referral is sent you will be contacted and you must complete labs that Dr Chia orders that are very specific to your illness. I saw him in October 2019And he’s treating me for myalgic encephamyelitis. I hope this helps.
