I have been volunteering with Operation Gratitude for many years. It is a great non-profit where they make care packages for deployed, veterans and first responders. They also make new recruit boxes. It is really gratifying knowing that you play a part in honoring those that serve our country!

We love Brother Will. He makes it happen. A great resource for helping our Nations Active Duty and Homeless Veterans.

Questions & Answers

Hi. I have a group of ladies who knit n crochet for various programs. When is a good time to bring in scarves for care packages?

Hi, I knit scarves for Op Gratitude also, and you can drop them off any time M-F from 9-4 pm. Someone will make sure the right person gets the scarves. Be sure to follow the guidelines that are on the website. Measurements between 4-6 inches wide and no more than 48-50 inches long. They have to fit into the care package boxes and still leave room for all the other goodies the troops get. Acrylic is much better than wool due to allergies and issues with washing the scarves. Muted colors, too. I include a note on each scarf that I tie to it that says something nice and encouraging and gives my name. Thanks for doing this!
