The scenery is pretty - by the bay and along a marsh, which the other reviews capture well. The barbed wire lining the trail and especially the gun range right next to the parking lot/trail head put a damper on things, though. If you would find the constant gunfire unsettling or off-putting for the first mile or so of traveling the trail, I suggest finding another part of the shoreline to explore.

The Park is perfect for bike riding, skates, walking including fun for your pets and most of all SAFE.

It's a couple miles from new parking lot, next to gun club, to main part of park. Several bridges over the marshes. It was about 8 miles from there to the pier and back. Not exact mileage as walked my dog before going there. I like this park, not very crowded, good views.

Beautiful, peaceful and quiet. You can enjoy yourself or a group sitting next to the water, go bird watching near the marsh lands, go biking through the trails, walk your dog or walk alone and take in the views, there is also an area for picnics and BBQs near the entrance and a climbing structure that looks fun for kids. Currently, there are lots of ducks in the water and goats grazing for fire prevention. Just a heads up there is a parking and dog fee on weekends and holidays, about $5 each.
