Very nice place for a walk, biking and nice view of the bay. Kids friendly trail gives you rurally life. For fishing not a ideal place because of the tide schedule.

Great for views and okay for fishing. Be prepared for a very long walk to the fishing pier and know your tides and currents if doing fishing, Currents and tides can be ripping here. Portapotty provided as are benches. Make sure you bring water. Note that a backpack or cart is required if bring much more than minimal fishing gear.

Didn’t come here to fish but the view. It’s deep in the bay. Got a rare chance to see the Dumbarton Point. The trail gate is normally locked but was open today. Got to have a close look at the Hetch Hetchy Aqueduct and the old rail bridge build over 100 years ago. An awesome experience.

Great place for short walks, fishing or just hanging out. parking is free and it is always windy. We always go there to spend the evenings just to enjoy nature. It has an interesting history.

How does closing the gate to cars and making people walk to the pier help with Covid? Ridiculous.

How come there is no way to find out if the pier is open? There is no one to answer the phone for inquiries. Is it too hard to post some information on its web site?

Update: Yes the pier is open and you can drive down to it and park, but there is parking lot work going on and the parking lot is 50 % open . Also the gate to enter is automatic and opens at 7am and closest 7pm. But you can exit at any time.
