Giving blood isn't always fun, but this place really takes their patients seriously and makes things as easy as possible.

This place is wonderful! I’ve been donating platelets and whole blood more frequently since March, 2020. Since we’re all avoiding so many gatherings, this has been a great place to socialize with all the appropriate Covid protocols. I feel safer here than anywhere else. They treat all of us donors so well.

This was my first visit at this center, poked and folded needle several times on my veins on both hands but were unable to get blood, never had such a bad experience, would avoid visiting here again

Donating blood is the easiest helpful thing you can do! Total time there will take about 45min-1 hour due to pre-donation digital questionnaire and in-person interview (checking for evidence of drug use and other confidential admissions someone might be afraid to put on paper), as well as a 15 minute snack/wait time post-donation. The space is well lit with fun music and positive vibes all around and a respectful staff. They only take reservations (as all the Stanford Blood Centers do) so sign up for a day and time through their website. Mondays are the busiest due to bonus incentives they offer those days. Other reviewers have mentioned issue with quality of phlebotomists but so far the only time I had issue with someone finding my vein, they asked for help from someone else who then did it.

Hello Kevin. We do not pay donor for blood products. We rely entirely on a volunteer (unpaid) donor base, which is widely considered in the blood banking industry to be a safer and more sustainable solution for maintaining the community's blood supply. We do offer thank-you rewards to our donors in appreciation for their time and altruistic gift.
why go there when nearby is someone who pays?
