My 9 month old cat was neutered and given his shots and was micro chipped on a Tuesday; by Thursday he was not eating and sleeping a lot, unable to bear weight on his front leg; Friday he is admitted to the vet with a serious infection and high fever (very close to death). I had called the SOS line to be blown off NOT once, NOT twice but 3 times telling me it was not a surgical problem it sounded like he had a virus yet they wouldnβt even see him to check the hot red wound on his belly, as well as a foul odor from his surgical sight. I paid for the surgery as well as left a donation to get my little guy back and have his health decline so fast. Luckily I was able to find him and emergency vet who was willing to help me help my little guy. Itβs been 3 days and nights at the vet and he is finally improving, but you can guarantee the SPCA will NOT help with a bill for a problem that they caused. If you have a vet or even a longer wait time at your own vet I highly recommend that you have your spay and neuter a done with them and not here!!!

A friend of ours fosters motherless kittens for the SPCA of Tompkins County... Which is how we met Zeddy, our fourth rescue cat. We adopted him as soon as he was big enough to come home. Zedward P. Scetti is a polydactyl tuxedo cat and being a bottle baby, he is the most people cat we've ever had. Love him to pieces, just like the other three! π

We adopted this sweet smart dog in January 2012. He has brought us so much enjoyment and has become our faithful loving friend.

Yes. Bonding and play is encouraged especially before adopting.
They do! There is a donation shed right next to the main entrance. You can also drop your empties at K&H redemption and tell them it is for the SPCA.
No. Sometimes rabbits and guineas pigs.
The address is not correct I tryed it got nothing I even had them send me a form to fill out but nobody sent me anything so apparently they don't exist
I believe so. A quick call during business hours can confirm or direct you to low cost pet care who does if they do not. I love bunnies!
You'll want to contact the SPCA directly. This is for asking questions of other Google users
$50.00, yes.
They don't "sell" any animal. There is an adoption fee to handle paperwork, background checks, help pay for the great things they do. A slight difference but an important one.
I would call the main center and they can either transfer you or get your info to the right place.
They go quickly, but yes, they do!
4-6 PM
Yes, they are
Who do I contact the local SPCA
12-5 Sun, Fri,Mon,... 12-7 Tue, Thur closed Wednesday
They so have recommendations for low cost and free clinics. You can also call CNY Snapp in Cortland they do clinics several times a month. Also Dr. Zwart in Freeville( Dryden) has good prices and is a great vet. I drive all the way from Binghamton to see him.
I am not sure if it would be animal control or SPCA. You can dial 211 tomorrow and ask them for the proper place to contact. They will connect you or give you the appropriate number.
Youβre welcome to contact animal control at (607) 592-6773 to discuss your situation.
I would use a "live trap". There are some available for sale at Home Depot, Lowes, Walmart, Tractor Supply, eBay, Amazon and many other outdoor stores. They cost between $40-$60. If you need a one time use trap contact the ithaca SPCA and they will loan one or point you in the direction of a rental. For bait a can of sardines, tuna or soft cat food would work great. Dollar store sells all those "baits" for cheap.
They will also provide you with a list of local veterinary references if you request them.
