The Church of the Resurrection is a welcoming, authentic community that will encourage you in your faith journey. Give the church a visit!
Carol Rothwell
We “shopped” for a new church by visiting nine different mainline Protestant churches. Midway through our first service at COR, we knew we had found our church, even though it’s 16 miles away, We seldom miss a Sunday.
Jan Kessinger
In my 28 years attending, I have grown tremendously in my Christian faith and challenged to do even more beyond where I felt comfortable. My membership has changed me for the better, and continues to do so. I like how I am challenged to think and decide what path to follow.

My wife and I are 27 year members of this congregation. We have met some of our closest friends here. Resurrection(COR) has an incredibly warm staff and congregants that care deeply about each person in our walls and many more that are not members both in and outside of the Kansas City metro area. If you are beginning your faith journey or well into your journey, there is a place here for you.

Same time as Service listed and on main Rez website- or link from it. Good to use when you absolutely have to otherwise there are occasional glitches in service at least where we are at! Especially if I decide to pause it. So better to be present.
Absolutely me and my boyfriend have the same mentality. The pastor is the best you’ll ever cross paths with. It’s incredible.
Hi Kathy! The new Sanctuary seats about 3,500 at full capacity, and it includes several ways that we can close off sections to make it more intimate for smaller events and services.
I believe Adam is preaching every weekend through Easter. Would be great to have you with us!
Yes and about 1.5 hours

This is from COR's materials: Resurrection is part of the United Methodist denomination, the second largest Protestant denomination in America. United Methodists value the full participation of women and men, people of all backgrounds in all facets of fellowship and leadership within the church and society. Resurrection holds the belief that the goal of the Christian life is to love God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength, and to love your neighbor as you love yourself. Valuing worship, preaching, small groups, and serving those who are in need, Methodists are known as “reasonable enthusiasts,” being both emotionally and intellectually engaged. The Church of the Resurrection states three emphases: Purpose: To build a Christian community where non-religious and nominally religious people are becoming deeply committed Christians. Vision: To be used by God to change lives, strengthen churches, and transform the world. Journey: To know, love and serve God.
Hi Dorothy! We welcome everyone at Church of the Resurrection! We have people who are more progressive, and people who are more traditional – depending on the topic, we usually estimate that around 60% of our congregation tends to lean more progressive, and 40% lean more traditional. It is deeply embedded in our culture to value the diversity of thought that comes with different perspectives. We hope to see you soon!
He is! He will be wrapping up the series on family caller "This is Us."
Yes, Pastor Wendy Lyons preaching who is awesome.
Donna, We are an affirming congregation that believes the LGBTQ+ community is of sacred worth however, currently under our denominational governances we are unable to perform same sex marriages and the ordination of Gay Ministers is complicated. We are working to change that to bring about inclusion that at least for some Churches could certainly do both.
Many will. COR does not close for weather. If you don't feel safe driving in, please visit https://cor.org/worship-online#d/alert/21055/cor for an excellent streaming service.
The Modern Service is even more contemporary than the Praise Service. It's set in a darker atmosphere than the Praise Service with more theatrical lighting. The Praise Service has contemporary praise music with a more traditional structured order of service. Hope this helps Karen.
Hi Dana, B means this is in Building B - the middle building where the Foundry Hall is located. If you park on the south side of building B (come in on 137th street and turn between the buildings) and enter the south entrance it will lead you into the Commons area. Inside, go toward the main entrance to Foundry Hall and you'll see B153 on your right. If you have any trouble, just ask, we'll have greeters here who would love to help you!
Thursday, Dec. 6 - Sunday, Dec. 9. Tickets are now available online: cor.org/christmasatresurrection
Building A Sanctuary and Building B Foundry
Hi Vivian! We have signs that guide you to guest parking in our main lots, and there are shuttles that will come by and pick you up from there (the shuttles also drive around the rest of the parking lots, as well). When you see a shuttle, just wave and smile at them and they'll come get you. :)
Generally, the golf carts drive through the parking lots looking for people who need assistance. We also have parking lot volunteers (wearing bright yellow vests) at all of the entrances. When you enter the lot, let one of these volunteers know that you will need assistance and they have radios that they can use to let the driver know where you are parking.
He preaches at the Leawood campus at all services.
Go to church? I really don't know... I believe they had 5-6 live services. You should call the church office, I guess.
Yes. It's online at 9 and 11 am Sunday and 5pm. Also on Roku.
KidsCOR, the program for toddlers through 5th grade, has a Sunday 5pm class. Rezlife, the 6-12th grade program meets Sundays at 9:15 and 11am.
I'd check their website.
IDK... I have visited only, from TX.
