I took my Charlie (YorkshireTerrier) there because he was having difficulty breathing. My wife and I kept on being told that we should leave Charlie there and how important it was to leave them there. So we did leave him overnight and we had him receive all the recommended treatments at the cost of over $2,000 over the period of a day and a half. We went to go pick him up the next day, and were told that we should leave him at the vet for an additional day at the cost of an additional $1,500. We questioned why we should do that when we were being told that they were only offering him extra oxygen. Right before Charlie was brought out we were told that all is vital signs were normal. However, when we left Charlie died within 5 minutes of us leaving the vet. If a dog is so close to death wouldn't you think that an experienced veterinarian would know that? However, what the vet really cared about was getting as much money as they could from us including the owner who was there recommended the Charlie should stay there at the vet. What they really cared about was getting as much money as they could from us before Charlie died, instead of making sure the Charlie was with us when he passed away. This is by far the worst veterinarian who only cared about money and not about keeping us and our Charlie together during his last moments of life. To be fair when we brought Charlie back after he died the attending employees at the front desk we're very empathetic and allowed us the use of the room to be with Charlie as we said goodbye to him. However, I will never go back to this place because if my dog died within 5 minutes of us picking him up after we were told that his vital signs are okay, and never being told that he was passing away by experienced veterinarians, what that tells me is that they were trying to use Charlie to get as much money from us as they could before he passed away.

They saved my dog's life. I'd give them a thousand stars if I could. It was a Monday and we were on our normal evening walk along the trails by our house when he was bitten by a rattlesnake that was hiding in a bush. We had no idea it was there. It never even rattled until after it bit him. We called our usual vet in a panic and they said to bring him here. The staff was kind, sympathetic, and expedient with his care. He stayed the night there so they could administer treatment and monitor his condition. He responded well and we brought him home Tuesday night. He was in noticeable pain and very swollen and red all over his abdomen due to the snake biting him in the chest. Within 24 hours he was showing remarkable signs of improvement. By Friday he was almost back to his usual happy and playful self with hardly any swelling and no more red. By the following Monday, a week from the bite, you would never even know it had happened if not for the shaved areas on his chest and legs. We are incredibly grateful to the staff at the AV Veterinary Center and could never thank them enough.

Everything was amazing! The amazing compassionate techs like Brittany made it easy to trust and the way Kelly so willingly went above and beyond to love Lola made an impactful difference. Thank you so much to Dr Harris, Dr Albasan and his surgical team. We are grateful she was able to go through such a surgery (removing 5 bladder stones!!) with such an exceptional staff! πŸ₯°πŸ™πŸΌπŸΎ

It's not often you get to use literally correctly with this kind of phrase, but these amazing vets and vet techs have literally saved my dogs lives, multiple times. They are kind and helpful. They won't try to force you into treatment that isn't useful, and will help you no matter how busy they are. Please remember that they started as an emergency vet, so your urgent, but not life threatening visit may take a little while, if there are life threatened dogs being seen. But they will see you, and help your loved ones with love!

I would say give them a call. They are so nice there & if they can't help your sick little puppy then I don't think anyone could. Their rates are very reasonable. I won't take my dog anywhere else again. Trust them.

How are they on dental work for a cat and cost

Bonnie Raynor | Sep 4, 2018
Debbie Young | Sep 4, 2018

Im not sure about the cost of dental work for cats. Its a good hospital for emergencies or if your pet needs complicated proceedures. They have up to date equiptment for handling really serious situations. Along with that equiptment comes higher prices all the way around. Its expensive to buy and use the machines they have. So in order for them to be able to keep their doors open they have to charge more than a veterinary hospital that doesnt have the expensive machines. I would think they would do a very good job doing dental proceedures but the cost will be higher. It all depends on if you can afford to pay more or not. If its an older cat with other health issues it might be the best answer.
