St. James is a "Reconciling in Christ" congregation, meaning that we are open and accepting of all people regardless of their gender identity or sexual orientation. We are open to those who are gay. We do not have many Spanish speakers, and the services will be in English, but you would be welcomed and we would be enriched!

Stephaene, St. James does have an evening pantry that is supplemental nutrition for children on free and reduced lunch through the school system. We will however also serve emergency needs on a one time case by case basis. Our Pantry is open Wednesday evenings starting at 6 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Please feel free to drop by. Normally for emergency assistance we refer to Metro Lutheran Ministries which is also in our building, but open 10-3 Mon-Fri. Their number is 454-5295, and they offer a variety of assistance.

St. James has two Food Pantries. The Emergency Pantry is operated by Metro Lutheran Ministries, open to all, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday - Friday. Their number is 816-454-5295 The other Pantry operated by the congregation is available by appointment for emergency service, and is open Wednesday from 5:30- 7 p.m. and Sundays 9:30- 11:00 a.m. That Pantry is considered supplemental nutrition for those who receive free and reduced lunches through the school system.

What paper work do you need?

For December, service is at 10 am Central on Sunday mornings. Normally the rest of the year there is an 8:30 am and 11:00 am service. Christmas Eve there will be a 10 am, 6 pm and 9 pm service.
