I took in a very old machine to see if it could be cleaned/fixed. Cris took time to explain that, unless this was an heirloom that I was trying to restore, my money would be better spent towards a newer machine rather than one that's 80 years old. I appreciated her candor and her willingness to educate me. It cost me nothing. I appreciate that she took the time and saved me the 85.00 cleaning fee. Will go back for future needs.

We purchased a serger used in the area, and needed it assessed and repaired. They had our machine for a very long time, would not communicate with us. We had to initiate all follow up, for intake, parts, and when it was done. They never called us at any part of the process. I would not recommend.

Employees were very surly. I dropped off my machine for a tune up. I was called the following day. They indicated the timing belt on my machine was worn and broken. The estimated cost of repair was over $300 and would take a couple weeks because it is such a time-consuming repair. I informed them I would just pick up my machine, because I couldn't justify the cost for the repair. Before I discarded my machine, I thought I would just get a second opinion. I took my machine to another repair center a couple miles east of Missouri Sewing Machine Co. I told them I believe my timing belt was broken. They told me they would repair it for $139; and, apologized since it was almost closing time, they couldn't do the repair until the following morning. They phoned me at noon the following day to say the repair was done. My machine is running so smoothly...just like brand new! (Singer Touch 'N Sew purchased in 1969) I will NEVER take my business to Missouri Sewing Machine Co. again. Please do your research.

Questions & Answers

My New Home machine jams in the bobbin area. I can only start the needle into the fabric and it jams. I cleaned out dust, debris, etc., changed needle, made sure bobbin is in correct. What can I do to fix it.

Janet Miller | Sep 3, 2020

Hi Janet, the most common reason a sewing machine jams in the bobbin area is because the top thread is not wrapped around the takeup lever, or the thread is not in the tension. When you pull on the top thread with the presser foot down you should fee a significant amount of tension on the top thread. Check that, along with making sure the thread is around the takeup lever that moves up and down as you are sewing.

I have a new home Memory Craft 6000 machine. When you depress the foot pedal it goes about a half a stitch and freezes. Repair man said it is electronic problem he can't fix. Can you? Or get me another machine like it?

Hello, we may be able to fix it. If you can take it to our main location at 1011 E. Truman Road we can provide a free estimate for you.

My machine will stop sewing and hum like the belt is slipping and if I pull on the wheel it will take on, but it keeps stopping and humming especially when I reverse it

It sounds like your belt needs to be replaced or it has come loose. We can fix either of those problems if you bring it in. Thanks!

My girlfriend has a PFAFF Creative 1473 CD that has started running even without the foot pedal depressed. It also starts racing. Any answers? Thanks

Hi Oscar, it sounds like you might have a short in the foot control or the foot control is stuck in the down position. If you bring it in we can tell you exactly what it is. Thanks!

Do you rent any wide foot sewing machines. I am looking to repair my sail. Thanks
