Five Stars. A great day hike. Easy to get to. Parking available. Popular with both serious hikers and families. Bring water. You will need it. Good hike on both got Summer days and cold Winter days. The trail is well marked. You are not likely to get lost on their hike. Plenty of elevation change for the fitness oriented and short enough for the weekend sightseers.

It's not the most exciting place to walk. It was a nice chance of pace, though. There are a lot of rocks along this trail and plenty of up and down to keep you literally on your toes. I just wish there was more to look at other than trees and rocks. Plenty of people on this trail. Only walked about 1.5 miles due to sundown being close and saw 8 different people. Not exactly secluded, but that's okay. This place wasn't my cup of tea, however I'm sure it will be for someone else. On the other hand, parking was easy to get to and it was pretty easy to leave when I was ready.

It was my first time hiking on this trail and it was an awesome experience. It’s a moderate and rocky trail with multiple elevations. It’s about 5.8 miles and it took my date and I about 3 hours and 40 minutes with taking some photos at the beautiful Shenandoah Valley overlook. I would recommend you go early on a weekend on a nice day like arrive before 7AM EST for a good parking spot. We got there around 8:08AM EST and we had to park across the highway which has a bigger parking lot. Anyway, the trail got busy coming down because it was around 10AM on weekend. Tons of families, dog walkers and solo hikers. I would personally recommend ankle support hiking boots but that’s my personal preference for the often rocky and slippery terrain. It’s a great cardio workout! I would recommend this hike!
