Go to San Diego Zoo instead The San Diego Safari Park was very disappointing to me, it is huge but if you are not going to be the extra money to do the extra expensive activities, it would feel like the most expensive hike through the trees, not much of animal encounters, and most of them are very far that you won’t actually see anything. If you are willing to pay a small wealth to do all activities, I imagine that it would be a lot of fun. I enjoyed their sister San Diego Zoo in Balboa Park much more.

Roar and Snore at the San Diego Safari was an awesome experience. I heard people say that you can hear lions roar at night and when I visited the exhibit I heard there were only four lions in the park. I thought “yeah right, how loud can these lions be? They don't even move, I bet we won't hear them roar tonight.” But that night sure enough I could never have been more wrong in my life. The lions were loud, so much so that my 10 year old son stayed up listening to them excitedly. He could not wait to see them in the morning. And as soon as we got up at 6 am we headed to the lions, and the experience to see them up close, albeit behind the glass was amazing. These lions are big, they are more than half the size of a cow, they could eat a cow! After that, we saw the tigers and they are equally amazing. Everything I paid for the Roar and Snore was well worth it and more. This would be an experience my children will never forget. The staff at the zoo were great, they were attentive and very helpful. Everyone I spoke to was always happy to help. Keep up the great work SD Safari!

Super fun zip line! The guides were super friendly and it was a high quality tour. He warned us before bumps, and answered any questions we had about the animals. Animals seem very well taken care of with all the space to roam and they seem very happy in general. Our guides for the caravan tour were just as great, and the private tour felt very personalized. The driver picked a very good path that he took us on, and it was amazing overall. The park is very clean, and staff are helpful all over. The volunteers are experts and go above and beyond to ensure a great experience. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a fun experience.

We spent most of the time walking and only did the one safari tour. It only took us a few hours to cover the entire park, looping around a couple of times to catch a show or similar. Hope this helps.
Different packages basic is 54 adults n 48 kids. Includes tram ride which is a must. The basic will keep u n kids entertained for The day .
You can buy tickets at the gate. Get them ahead of time on your smartphone or tablet, and you'll get a barcode which will be scanned at the gate. I don't remember seeing any self serve kiosks.
Yes, it is connected to the famous San Diego Zoo. In fact, the Safari Park originally wasn't open to the public, but was just used for breeding, extra space, etc for the zoo. You can get discounted passes to attend both the zoo and Safari Park if you want to explore each on different days.
