WOW Noon Mass followed by Stations of the Cross. Perfect for Lent! Just WOW.

Attended the 4 PM vigil mass on a Saturday. Beautiful, Liturgical music. Priest reverently celebrated the Mass according to the Roman missal. When I thanked him, he commented βyouβre welcome. I just pray what the church gives me to pray and in the manner in which she asks me to.βπ

Prepare to be immersed in the most beautiful Mass! A wedding in Westport in Kansas City, MO brought us to this Church on Sunday morning...It is breathtakingly beautiful and we were warmly greeted at the door by their Permanent Deacon who visited with us about the Church. Mass reminded me of my childhood with all the candles lit as for a High Mass, incensing of the altar and celebrants, and the beautiful vestments and formal black birettas worn by the priests. The Mass parts were chanted in Latin, and everyone joined in. That doesn't often happen in Catholic Churches. The other thing that impressed me so much was that the Altar Servers all kept their hands folded or resting on their legs at all times. No tennis shoes, no fidgeting, no forgetting duties, etc... They knew that they were attending something very sacred and acted accordingly. Communion rails were used to distribute the Eucharist which brought a feeling of humility and piety to such a Sacred Offering. The Pastor gave a great homily that had been well prepared. After Mass, everyone recited the Chaplet of Divine Mercy as Our Lady of Good Counsel is the designated parish for their Diocese. The deacon told us that they have relics of St. Faustina and St. Pope John Paul II which both have prominent places in the Sanctuary. I left the Church with a renewed reverence for the Holy Eucharist and all that is Catholic. God bless you all!

Confession'll take forever to get in. Parish has it's extremist nut-case types peppered in with the rest. Our Lady GC is not a typical parish in that it's a commuter parish; parishioners who attend can rarely claim to be mid-town residents. People commute here, though, because one can rest assured that the liturgy will consistently be offered in adherence to the rubrics, often including the priest facing the same direction for the rite as the congregation.

9 am
Workshop or worship? Sunday masses are at 9 am (with an outstanding traditional choir and organ) and 11 am. With 3 priests in residence confessions are often heard during the first half of mass.
Check the bulletin on their website. Typically they offer a service at 6 on holy days of obligation. Since Ash Wednesday is not a holy day of obligation and uniquely services are typically later, I would not be surprised if they were at 7. You will have to check the bulletin to be certain.
