Let's Get Back To Basics πŸ˜‹ GOOD FOOD IS A BLESSING Healthy food , good food, starts with the perfect seed. The best is to plant that seed yourself. Growing your own fruits and vegetables is great for adults and children....and children tend to eat more fresh food when they participate in the planting. KANSAS CITY COMMUNITY GARDEN CENTER can help educate you and give you the confidence to grow your own. They have classes for adults and children. The education the center shares are fun and very informative . Seeds and plants are so affordable. So come take a short tour, bring the children. You will truly enjoy yourself. Handicap friendly ❀.

Got our warm season plants. An absolute zoo but it's well worth the cluster. Our plants are beautiful.

Great place if you are really into gardening. They have everything you need❀ Updated review. I was recently at the garden to pickup plants. It was a very disturbing experience. It was very unorganized. They usually let so many in at a time. This year they let people walk up to the gates to get in front of people who had been waiting in line for hours. The people in the front were told they wouldn't lose their place in line. Not the case. It was so bad that I decided to go inside to purchase seeds, and a replacement card because lost mine. When the representative on the inside said I would have to get in line outside to pay I said it's too chaotic. She was very pleasant, and told me I could return on Monday. I left frustrated. I will return at a later time. This use to be a pleasant experience.

Love this place. You can become a member for a low price and purchase seeds, plants and tools. They serve the community in various ways including providing support to local community gardens. Last year, I bought most of my veggies for gardening from Lowe's. I am supporting KCCG this year. I paid less than $20 for twice as much compared to my purchase at Lowe's.

when is the earliest we can start to work our plots in the spring? I want to plant cool weather stuff as early as possible.

Angie Flora | Nov 7, 2021

It all depends on the weather. Check in with Angie Waterman at the office in early spring.

Can we pay and keep the same plot that we had this season?

Mr. Macky | Nov 7, 2021
Angie Flora | Nov 7, 2021

Yes, renew your membership and plot before the end of the year.

When do we have to have our plots cleaned up for the fall and where do we put plant debris, etc?

Mr. Macky | Nov 7, 2021
Angie Flora | Nov 7, 2021

November 12th is when the gardens close. You can leave plant materials in the plot. Every thing else must be removed so we can till the plots.

do you take donations? i have some tomato starts available

Donald Davis | Sep 3, 2021
